Great light but the background is too present IMHO. Reduce the DOF if possible (and I know it's easier said than done: they move so fast).

Without the fake sparkles...

Thanks for the feedback.

Sometimes children are not cooperative or maybe it's the photographer that is too tired... anyway I could not get the shoots I wanted of my daughter in her baptism dress (old familly dress, it's special to us).
So I finally settled on this shot but I felt the eyes were just dull. In an attempt to turn a bad shoot into an acceptable one, I added sparkles in the eyes with Photoshop. The mother and I disagree on whether it was a good idea and I'd like a second (informed) opinion.
What are your thoughts: are the sparkles justified? do they improve the photo? are they done right? I know in an ideal world, I would reshot but this is not an option here.
Below is the original photo and thank you for your time

Thank you for the comments. I agree the frame is not very tasteful. For a long time, I did not bother with framing and now I'm experimenting!

Thank you for all the comments and positive feedback.
Dalia, yes Photoshop is an integral part of my workflow: I developed in Camera RAW (including color adjustments), gave Sophie a true baby skin (removed small blemishes), fixed the eggs (unfortunately, they broke when we painted them...), I might have removed an unwanted straw, finally I sharpened.
Why the question?

It's one of those photos where I cannot fault anything. It's well done but it fails to excite me. I think you have stronger work in the rest of your portfolio.

Fresh and fun.

Excellent idea. I love it.

Good idea, I like it. Technically it could be stronger (the quality of the light on her is different from the light on the teaware and she does not show in the cups shadow) but I'm willing to forget these for the... charming idea. 7/7

Love it, 7/7

Technically it is well done but I don't like the posing. What this says to me is: "there's another man in her life" which is not a message I'm very comfortable with. I might have an inappropriate reaction but I'm telling you what I'm seeing. 6/4

Great shot, fantastic lighting but I like the original crop better so I'll give this one 6/7 and the original one 7/7.

I like how it is framed and composed.

Another session with my favourite little model, Sophie, in an Easter theme. This was a very funny session.
Your commends, suggestions and advices are welcomed. Thanks for looking.

Good composition.

This is a style of portraiture that I normally don't like but you made it work here. Excellent work. Out of curiosity, is it Photoshop or makeup? Could you outline your technique.
-
You're right: it's not for everybody but I do like it.
-
Good composition and framing. I like the contrast with the boats in the foreground but the light is dull and kinda sad. I suggest you return to the garage on a day with more interesting light or at dawn/sunset.

Good composition and I like the idea. I wish there was more DOF so the front piece is completely in focus and the back one is not so blurred.

Excellent panning.
