Hi I am a busy photographer, in the past I have had my sensors cleaned at a pro centre each month and then just given the sensors a quick blow with a gitzo rocket here and there.
I have two aging 5D's. However im getting soooooooo busy I cant have them in the workshop so often so I am looking at ways to clean the sensors weekly at home.

I intend to upgrade both cameras soon to 5D II I hope these are less prone to dust !

Hi I need to buy a new monitor for photoshop work. I have ?200 to spend and
have little need for a huge dislay, colour correctness and ease of calibration
are my most important needs.
I am sure you good people can help with some good advice. I have an account
with dell and viking direct that supply mostly samsung. So any advice on them
would be nice.
Thanks James.

I have the same questions really I paid for montage and as yet never got it to work ! I use the reportage album, which is tricky to put together,I no longer use the clue strips, and use craft clue. I do have problems with overlays being damaged in transit, I have to reorder often. BUT !! once done the albums look ace ! I just need montage to work or an alternative software package. So that my question !! any ideas on ablum software for spicers stuff ! I have become the leading wedding photographer in my region and overnight! and cant waste time !
thanks jk.

Hi Anthony , AWB can be a little hit n miss I must admit. But on the whole its not bad. Why are you having problems? I did have some portraits come out a bit red recently.
-
Hi Hannah this does sound like a White Balance / colour tempreture problem. I have never used a Nikon but looking at the D50 review on the website Dpreview, I see you can select which light you are shooting in! worth a look. see link

Hi gang ! I am soon to cover a wedding for a French couple living in the UK at
the moment. They dont have many friends here and are having a BIG wedding in
the south of France in the summer 07. So I would like to make the most of
their petit wedding!
Do any of you good people know of any french customs I could recreate for them
on the day?
Thank you James.

Oh Jim the 85/1.2 is on my wish list. But I feel I may have to wait a little while. Portraits is my main subject, but the lens will be used for weddings travel & street. I have the 70/200 L f4 which is stunning for portraits. But i do have some concern that the f4 at the shorter focal length of the 24/105 may not give me the amount of background blur I may need at times. However I often pop on the 50mm 1.8 when I know I need the wider aperture. The little 50mm lens is so amazing at times and a great price.
Thanks for all the help thus far-keep it coming.

Hello all, I am looking to buy a lens for the 5D and I am not sure which of
the two to plump for. Do you good people have any experiences good or bad with
this camera/lens combo that may aid me choice?
-
Thank you all. I will practise in my home and post the results.

I chose the EOS3 for its use of my wide angle lens 19-35. I do have a EOS 300D I could use. As for my photoshop guru, he is a good friend who comes free! I am thinking of buying the EOS5D for the full frame digital experience.
Thanks for the advice thus far guys!

Hello all.
I have been asked to create some 360 degree photographs for a Hotel
showing all their rooms. I have taken the job and all I need to do
now is find out how the hell to go about it! what lens? what
technique ? I will be using a EOS 3. And an expert photoshop graphic
designer will be in charge of the editing side. Can any body give me
some pointers?
Thanks James.

in Education & Resource
Posted

Hi, I am thinking of offering my clients 360 Virtual tours. But after doing a "Goggle" im quite confused ! There are 100s of software program's out there.
I have seen some really high quality 360 tours which can be used on ipad / apple systems.
Anybody know of a good training company in the UK online or workshop that teaches the skills of 360 tours?

Thank-you James.
