    Beautiful color, very creative idea. I would watch the consistency of the reflection though: the sky's reflection is quite clear, but the reflection/shadow of the dog team and the human subject seem to be not as clear or absent. Nevertheless, an overall beatufiul image 6/6.

    Thanks everyone for your comments and critiques. This picture was taken early in the morning. I had to be careful about not getting my own shadows and also scaring the little crab away.

    Thanks everyone for your comments. Hi Lee, I think your variation with greater contrast is very interesting. You are right in that the lighting was quite "flat". This picture was taken right before sunset, front lit. But in some way, this flatness reminded me of the quietness and peace of this particular location at the remote tip of the island - something more of a personal connection than asthetics. But I will try to experiment with Photoshops and see.

    Hi Christopher,

     

    Thanks for your critique. These mushrooms actually grew in that pattern. After big showers in Houston, many of these little guys would spring up among grassy areas in various patterns. I got this picture during sunset, just in time before the sunlight is completely gone.
