  1. Move the aperture ring on the lens itself to f22, and make sure it's properly mounted on the camera.

  3. Double post...sorry! Hi Michelle, and welcome to the world of photography! And never feel like you need to apologize for being new at something. We've all been there! Before I switched over to Canon, I had a Sigma 105mm macro for my Nikon. I loved it! Not only are the Sigma lenses much less expensive than Nikon, but it was super tack sharp. You definitely need a tripod as well when working with a macro lens. I shot this image of a kiwi with that lens.<div></div>

  5. I'm just getting to know my 5D Mk III after switching systems. Lynda.com has a fantastic video tutorial that walks through every bit of the camera, including a whole chapter on the AF system and how to use it. Not sure where you live, but our county library offers free access to Lynda.com courses. You might want to check and see if yours does too. I found it incredibly helpful, and learned some tips and tricks it would otherwise have taken me forever to figure out.
