  1. I have had both of them. personally I don t see much difference the 72 mm (diameter) and the f2.8 of the 24-85 are more professional than the 62mm and f3.5 of the 28-105.

The 24-85 cost double of the 28-105 you could try a 28-105 plus a 24 f2.8 used for the price of a 24-85.

    Cheers

  2. My friend, Christian Lombardi, a French photojournalist, here in

Bolivia has involved in a project where he is teaching blind people

photography, or when to press the shooter. He sets the camera with a

wide angle lens and encourages the blind to confront, and some time

to harass people on the street. Snap shooting the people and their

reactions. They have got actually interesting pictures, you can see

the reaction of people that laugh and some times feel even repulsion

to the idea. It supposes that this is not necessary art, but a form

of expression that can catch with and eye that they do not have, but

that can be tell by others. Some times y feel that it may be

Ridiculous, a waist of time, or a disrespect to make some one take

pictures that they can not appreciate. I would like to know your

    opinion.

    Thanks.

  3. I am going to travel to Chile, the first part driving from La Paz

Bolivia to Arica, and then by plane to La Serena. I know that the

landscape is amazing. So I would like to take some pictures on the

road. My final destination is also a beautiful place to photograph.

The problem is that my wife and I would have to take care of three

kids and some luggage. I wonder what you would take with you: F80,

    FE2, 24-85 f2.8-4AF, 105 f2 DC AF, 180 2.8 AF, 80-200 f2.8. SB24.

All, or none of the above? Thank you all in advance.

  4. I just got a F80 to replace my N90s that had an AF problem that

couldn t be fixed at Nikon here in La Paz.

I feel the difference in weight, but the construction look sturdy.

The plastic feels like metal and the shell is better than the N90s

that got many cracks without much abuse.

What I feel and I would like to correct through the custom settings

is that the camera seems been thinking before every shot. It takes

about 2 seconds between the press of the shooter and the time the

curtain moves. Do you know what is the setting, if there is one, I

    have to change?

    Thank you in advance.

  5. I am in South America and some times we having trouble with the

pronunciation of Nikon. Europeans and Japanese pronouns Nikon like

in nickname but in North America you pronounce it like in Nike. I

know that it is silly, but some one has and idea about this history?

  6. I have a N90s, an had a F3 that I exchange for a FM2n (less bulky)

The N90s had two cracks, when I got it used, at the prism that I fixed with epoxy mass, the ugly pealing problem that I fix painting it with a professional car painter, but finally I got the MF26.

Once I was carrying bout the N90s and the F3 when they hit each other. The F3 was ok, but the n90s got a broken lever, the one of the back lock. The F3 may be indestructible in the outside, but a fall could cause a pentaprism mirror decalibration like happen with mine. Any way, cameras are not hammers they are precision instruments and most be treated with care.

  7. I own an N90s, a FM2, an old 80-200AF2.8, a 24-85 AF f2.8-4 and a 105

    2DC.

Lately I have found that the FM2 is more enjoyable than the N90s for

my type of shooting mainly landscapes and portraits.

    http://www.photo.net/photodb/folder?folder_id=396698 I was wondering

if I should get a 50 1.4 AI for my FM2 or the 24-85 is enough. What

about trading my 80-200 AF w/o tripod collar the push an pull version

for a 180 AF, ED D. May be I just trying to justify my NAS. Thank you

    in advance.

  8. Even having read the owner"s manuals of the flash and the camera, I

am not sure how to use the flash for out door photography. What I am

doing is set the flash to M and the flash power to 1/8 or 1/16 that

means 6- 18 feet according to my subject distance. If I am using a

wide stop like f2 for a narrow DOF, some times the speed results over

my camera max. speed for flash. The question is should I use the A

mode in the flash instead? What can I do with the hight speed that I

    have to use?

    thank you in advance.

  9. I got a FM2n like new in the box I trade it for a 180 2.8 IF ED. As

a condition I had to sell my old FE2 that I previously bought in

bargain condition for 150 $us to the same gay for the same price.

I was surprised with the fact that the FM2 does not have auto

exposure, exposure compensation nor TTL. My other equipment includes

    a N90s a 80-200 2.8 AF, a 24-85 F2.8-4 a 105 D.C. and a SB24. "I

read about a guy that fried his FE2 using a SB23".

I am little disappointed with the lack of this features in the new

camera and, If I want I could break the deal.

What would you do considering that:

1- The camera is for buck up

2- I have enough knowledge, not always the will, to handle the pure

    manual stuff.

3- The 180 F2.8 AF was redundant to my 80-200.

4- I will get 150 Dollars for the Old FE2.

    Thank you all in advance.
