Very sorry! Here is the specs on my machine; DELL XPS 8500, Windows 7 Home Premium SP1, Processor Intel Core i7-3770 CPU@3.40 GHz, RAM 16 GB, System Type 64 bit, Graphics Card NVIDIA GeForce GT640, Monitor LG 32", FHD(HDMI) Native Res 1080x1920. Printer Epson SC P800. Calibration using Colormunki. My issue has been that I think I went to cheap on the monitor. Resolution does not appear to be there. Prints coming out of the printer look nicer that on the monitor. I want to raise the bar on print image quality(nuances) that the current setup does not display. Thanks again everyone!

No Annual Nikon February/March Lens Rebate in 2017?

Yes! I'd love 10-12 stops of DR. -

Update and extra "Thank You". I have not yet, and may not at all, update to Windows 10. Still using Windows 7 Home Premium. After cleaning up the inside of the computer and periodically using CClean64 and Microsoft Windows Malicious Software Removal, the machine is back to its good speed again. Unless something happens prematurely, I will wait for an upgrade in OS until I need a new machine. Thanks again to all of you who helped me clean up the old buggy.

Using CClean and MS Malicious Software Removal Tool have helped. The machine can still slow to a crawl on some occasions. Also, I found that my OS, Windows 7 Home Premium only supports 16GB of RAM. So, 8GB is just sitting there. I believe the next step is Windows 10 Pro. Microsoft offers it for $199. Is that a fair price, for a legitimate download? Thanks.

Ok, here I go. Thanks for all the excellent advice. I'm going to start by cleaning up the system with multiple virus scans and cleaning softwares. If that basically fixes it, I get back to business and run those programs about once a month from now on. Then, I'll probably upgrade to Windows 10 Pro. Will let you all know how it goes. Again, thank you ALL very much.

Epson p800.

I used a 3800 for many years, until it became cranky and unreliable. After a not too long trip down the learning curve of my new P800, I have accepted it as an incremental improvement over the 3800. My main issue with it is that it does not like some of the non Epson papers, mainly light weight 17x25 photo papers.
-

I use 3 yr old Dell XPS8500 computer with Creative Cloud Lr & Ps. Two things are driving me nuts! Mainly, it has slowed to a crawl. I cleaned out the case of some dust and added RAM cards to go from 12GB to 24GB. Those two things only helped a little bit. Also, according to the System Properties page, only 16GB of the 24 is "usable". I have been told I should uninstall/reinstall the OS-Windows 7. Any thoughts would be much appreciated!

I have a six month old P800 that has been printing well, til now. It will print some files in nearly a perfect match to the monitor. On some it prints dark and with an almost greenish color cast. I used the same paper with each. I have cleaned the print head, even though the test print was clear. I have calibrated it with ColorMunki. Those two tasks made no difference. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

My printer has just started leaving rubbing scratch marks on 13x19 and larger prints, just in the lower left 1/4 of the paper, about 1" X 8-9". It does not scratch until after or while the print head makes its pass. It looks like it may be the print head wiring harness racking across the paper. Any ideas would be much appreciated. Thanks.

I am researching laptop computers. The one I have now is too slow in post processing and internet downloading. I use PSE 11, NIK, Photomatix, etc to edit TIFF files that are 100-500+MB. I have a 2 year old Dell that I paid about $350 for, Windows 8. It's a pain. What do you all recommend? Thanks.
