Thanks for that rundown Bob,but it didn't answer my question.Seeing I own the space that I'll park it in,that's not an issue. The number prints I'll print also has no bearing to my question.I simply want to know the approximate cost per print with this printer.I used the 1280 as an example just because I know the cost per print is high.
Thanks for your thoughtfull answer though.

I'm wondering if anyone can give a breakdown of costs printing with
an Epson 7800.I'm just looking for an approx amount for maybe a 16 x
20 on Epson premium luster paper. How would you compare printing
costs compared with an Epson 1280???
Thanks in advance.

You can try this stair step interpolater.Best of all..........it's free. What have you got to lose???I've upsized to 24x36 from a 10D file and the results were very nice.

You could buy the conversion kit to use a 9 volt battery or search the web to learn to make one yourself.
-
With almost 7500 forum postings maybe you're spending way too much time on this site and not all that much on raw conversions.

What are you using to scan your personal 6x6 film.Flatbed???

Leather on mine.

Nikon doesn't have any full frame cameras, even with the announcement of the D200.I guess your still stuck with Canon.

I wondering if anyone can help me find a manual for an Elan 2.I've
aquired a camera but need to know the settings for custom functions
and other things.
-
Lets hope that they don't think Uncle Joe's photos, who's shooting right behind you while you do all the setting up will suffice.Hey,it could happen.

Well, if you decide to get rid of a body with 80mm lens and a back, please let me know as I'd be really interested.

I have to buy Paul a lunch and I live in Newfoundland. He's a very good guy to deal with and is more than willing to help whenever he can.Too bad there's not more people like Paul around.

Hi Ben,
I have a Canon 10D with a good meter, but I know it can be fooled as much as it's right.I use a handheld meter with this camera and shoot in manual mode.I find I have more consistant results this way.

Marke,
Thanks for the answer. This is the same reason I'd like to change back to film.If I need digital,I can always buy a point and shoot.
-
Gary,
I know that large format would be the ideal thing for what I want but I also need something that won't be too much of a pain to set up.Medium format is,to me, a very good compromise.I have an RB67 but it's too bulky to carry far.The hassy seems to be a good trade of with the square format and great lenses.
The cost of going back to digital won't be great as I'll still be keeping my lenses and flash to use with my Canon elan 7e.

I'm 99% sure I'm going to trade my Canon 10D for a Hasselblad
503cx.I'm just wondering what people would think of such a thing.I'm
over the digital wonderment ans would like something that is quite
good for fine art photography.I know a dslr can be used for such a
thing but I think film is still better for B/W work.Any
suggestions???

Diane,I have a Canon 10D and have printed off some very nice 36x54 inch photos.I always run my files through photoshop and use interpolation software. From a normal viewing distance these photos look very good.Up very close you'll see some defects but a photo this size isn't meant to be viewed from 2 inches away.
I got my interpolation software free from the following site.

Hope you find what you're looking for.

I no longer have the pdf file of the F801s manual. As I don't shoot Nikon any more, there was no need to back up this file.I had to re-format my hard drive and lost the file.Maybe Peter has it that he can forward to you.
Sorry,
Don

"The AE-1 is an "aperture priority" camera."
Actually, the AE-1 is a shutter priority camera.Aperture priority cameras let you decide what the aperture will be while the camera decides what the shutter speed will be.
It's the other way with the AE-1.

Thanks Shun.I didn't think of that.I get enough junk mail as it is.I don't need more.
