    Blue dreams

great one, i would suggest to dodge the glass on the left a bit , close the the edge of the frame, so in a sense to get mores isolated composition.

have you seen a movie by .a.konchalovsky "syberiada", there is this dream sequence in the marshes....

i have no problem with your composition, find it quite intriguing. the post on the left ( big ) and the beam the workers hold together, sets this tone of duality in your image. two beams, two workers, humanity control of events and events that are bigger then us and not in control, the weight and balance of your image sets this uneasy-uncomfortable-feel, and it is exactly what it should do. look into a film by alexander sokurov "whispering pages", you might find something that might inspire.

    best regards

i would love to see more your shots from this location, it seems your eye has a desire for "steamy" balance, so my curiosity is even greater imagining what the others might look like.

  1. there is something eerie about it, my guess that it is a frozen smile of a face, long dead in high contrast to surrounding background....

    and ...

perhaps the smile is the key here, fixed in a static expression where we move by, in darkness, still searching for wisdom.

  2. that depends on how you see this image, sometimes it might have no value per se, but in context of photographic neighbors can have a value, i see it more as a part of a series and you should think of it as such.

as to ratings who cares !

  3. what i find fascinating about it is the composition, three groups of women and the triangle they compose, each group caught in its own world, yet hypnotized by the same interest. the triangles in the windows, the rectangles of the carpet on the floor, the table, the lamp , basic geometric shapes form a space where the figures feel like mannequins in a store, although you have got to be jealous of their love for ....

    on my rating scale 10/10

just one thought. the red is to saturated and just pops-out in contrst to skin color. it might be you desire to keep it as such, however i will point out that a blance between the greens upper-part of your photo, and red of her lips would be a key.

i did not use tripod, the camera was hanging on my neck. i tried not to breath, while pressing a cable and having film exposed to magic of time. maybe there is too much blur, but there is still some level of detail that allows the eye to register things. it is all about balance and pov. i am happy with this one.

well, i keep coming back to this picture and i wonder why it is getting such a poor ratings. as i stated before i find this image outstanding, and if i could keep re-rating is over and over again i would keep giving it the highest marks. some of those blind need to understand that rating is not some random button pressing. therefore i will explain WHY i think it deserves better.

i look at Beau photo in context of his work. he has a whole series of images with steam ( i am jealous ) which are great, mysterious and very poetic. looking at them i see an eye that keeps seeking a new angle, a method of capturing this visuall phenomena, form an outsider's point of view to of an insider from within the mystery as it is in a case of the image above. so try for yourself, to see how "easy" is to "click" an image of a poetry within, with something of this nature.

  4. what intrigues me the most is that somewhere there, outside of the frame there is this table with "great food", HAPPINESS, just within a reach of a hand.

the open trank of a car, the open door of a trailer, a simple gesture for an invitation to joy.

    thanks for sharing this photo
