i think there are ways of adding even greater stress, but you being the person in control ( i hope ) will not give up futher explorations due that it was hard work, trust me there is more to find. wish you best of 'shooting'.

i found your second one from this series more powerful then this one. however have to admit that her expression is quite interesting here. what bothers me here is not lighting nor the composition, rather the shapes created by body imprint which go in high contrast with the rest of the photograph. somehow i feel it distracts form its power. maybe if there were more texture to counter its effect it would work better. i recall a great and quite unknown si-fi polish film "tender spots", there was a sequence where main character is walking amids people wearing only clear plastic clothes. the take has this magnificent effect upon viewer, because the face+ hair seems so normal, a view we are so used to and where the visual abstraction of seeing a human body through plastic with additional lighting coming from wrinkles of worn clothes, created this quite surreal experience -> transparency. the connection between the two worked so great there. however with your new upload i can't connect the two opposing themes, which forces me to be more aware of used technique then your photograph.

i am not too crazy about the bottom part of the photo. somehow it takes the power from the composition.

as a photo-montage/photo-collage i find this work worth looking, but a photograph this is not. a danger of misleading one into seeing it as photograph, a rare moment captured in time, a rare instance of a rare occurrence, a perfectly focused synchronization of elements in frame will in the end create a grim result - blindness.

it is a wonderful work as long as labeled correctly.

this is great , edmo and you covered the same spot. i wonder if the area around where the figure is forces every photographer to take picture with a certin angle. great experiment to see how some of us picture and see the same things. if i am in ny this year i will try to shoot there as well.

what attributes does red as a color have plus its symbolic meaning ? besides driving me crazy all my life ( ha ha ). is it illusion ? to smooth things a bit from white to black, to make daily suffering worth the while, to fool the fool into utopia, to kamuflage the true essence of human pain, the eternal pain of being.

the flowers are you, and us ( the viewers ). the contrast you make through your expression is a kin to accept the fate, once we bloom and once we fade. some in life will go with a flow of the river-passive, some will swim against. a few will stand on the side and with bright eyes watch the fate unfold, you know who the few are. fight time ! and "rage, rage against the dying of the light".

why red ?

the soothing flavor of orange or green are of much better substance. red, much overplayed and talked about, the primal scream, the essence of blood and guilt. the red allergy with no medication in sight. lovely room indeed,..... would you protect ? --- a phantom.
