Wal-Mart 1hr labs don't use matte. it's called luster. It's between matte and gloss. Plus remember it all depends on the store. I run a Wal-Mart 1hr lab. And i'm happy to say we're the best lab in town. We have many pro users. That being said we also bust our ass taking care of our machines. I've been to other walmarts near our lab and most are dumps. Like i said gotta find a good lab.

Remember, not every Frontier can print 10" the 390 will only goto 8". Plus not all labs have 10" paper. I've added about 8 extra "sizes" to both of mine. We would do wallets from neg without using pic unit

Wal-mart can still get the Tmax for there store.

My lab has a 370 and a 390. Our 390 is our 6" work horse. Our 370 does mostly 4" and 8" with 6" only for CD's. Only one pic and dpc units. Anywho, on our 390 we have to run "test patterns" once a week to control just what you are seeing. Make the lab do it over.
You can clean all you want but if you don't run the size..

I dunno what Wal-Mart you've been to but in my lab we look at EVERY pic we print. Thats right, we check everyone for color/exposure for all prints. I guess maybe at your local Wal-mart they don't do that.

I meant for c-41. But I guess I should think before I type. duhhhh

If all you're getting is develop then it won't matter. No printing is another story.. And unless you get a CD they don't have a record of what you shot.

Okay, someone please tell me what "pushing film" is.. Is it buying a
roll of say 400 and telling your camera it's 800 or somewhere in
between?

No lab around where I live would reuse fixer.. They do however use silver recovery. It's a free money maker..

Wal-Mart can do prints from CD for .24 each. if you can find one that has two Frontiers say maybe a 390 they can pound that out.
