1. I have the old Rodenstock catalog but it doesn't have a description of

    the weight of the lens.

There are theoretical MTF curves for the lens though and other tech

specs - if you want it, email me and I'll send over a jpeg scan of the

    catalog page for the lens.

BTW, I own the 210mm Geronar. It's a good lens. Not super outstanding

in terms of sharpness but very contrasty. It's got a nice

You do know that the 150, 210 and 300mm Geronars are Cooke Triplet

    designs don't you?

  2. This is not an answer to the original question, but it has to do with

using one size of ND center graduated filters for lenses of different

focal lengths with the same filter thread size.

I am thinking of purchasing a Heliopan 67mm center filter for use on a

47mm, 58mm and a 90mm all of the same filter thread size. (47mm SA XL,

    58mm SA XL, 90mm Fujinon f8)

Should I be buying a 'matched' center filter for each lens (that'll

totally break the bank), or will one filter do for all three lenses?

Also, what on earth is the difference between B+W, Heliopan and the

Rodenstocks in terms of quality? Do they all graduate to the same

    degree?

Sorry if this is slightly off thread but I'd really appreciate some

    advice.

  3. I own the 210mm Geronar. It's a good lens used within its specs. If

you're keen, I can send you a JPEG of the theoretical MTF with this

lens and specs (scans of the old Rodenstock catalog). Email if keen.

FWIW, for $300-350 used, I'd really rather try to get a used Schneider

Xenar f6.1. It has probably better corrections due to the Tessar

design. The modern Xenars (of which the 210/6.1; the other being the

    150mm/5.6) are outstanding performers.

  4. Hi

I am seeking information about the various marks of this lens made by Fuji.

As I understand it, a 90mm f8 has been offered by Fuji since the 70s. I am looking to buy used one, and I have come across one bought by an individual in 1992. He isn't able to tell if its a multicoated lens (I suspect it MUST be, due to the 90s vintage), but describes the lens coating as looking 'purplish'. My question therefore is: Is this a multicoated lens???? (It comes in a Copal 0, if that's any help)

I am asking because both my Fujinon 150mm and 210mm W (non-CMW) lenses have greenish coatings.

Lastly, the FSTOP website details the 90mm f8 as having a 6E/6G design. Isn't this very different from the typical 6E, 4G designs of the f8 90mm lenses from the various manufacturers? What advantages can such a design have over the 6E/4G designs, and can someone possibly tell me if the 1992 vintage lens I am looking at has the same design as the current model.

Lastly lastly, pray tell, does anyone know what the BEST street price is for a brand new 90mm f8 Fujinon?? And where can I buy this lens at the price mentioned?

  5. Hi

I am looking for comments from folks who have compared (shot with) the current multicoated 65mm super wides from Nikon (65mm f4), Schneider (65mm f5.6 SA), and Rodenstock (65mm f4.5)

I especially need specific comments on the edge quality of all three lenses as I would likely be using the lens to the limit.

    Thanks in advance!

  6. You'll likely find this to be a lens you'll like. BTW, it is

essentially a modern version of the Cooke Triplet. With so little air

glass surfaces and multicoating, the contrast should be wonderful.

    Use with confidence.

I hear that in the same range, the 90mm Geronar is another budget buy

worth checking out if you don't require much movements.

  7. Hi

Could someone tell me where I can buy ready made flash sync cords online for the older LF lenses with the two prongs?

Also, has anyone modified such lenses to use the modern X-sync sockets? I have a Kodak 203mm Ektar that I want to use with a studio flash.

    Thanks

    KH Tan
