the reason i dont beleive it is a processing issue is because i do
not use the same take and reel every time, i just grab one off of
the shels, also if it were a problim with the tanks teh other 14
peopel in my class woudl also have the same problim, which
they do not. I talked to a friend of mine who has done darkroom
for 30 years and he thought it coudl be a bressur mark of some
kind, but because of the regulairity of the mark he is doubtfull that
i coudl have coused it in teh pattern that it is,
I have taken 2 different rolls of film and lined them up to see if the
marks match, and THEY DO, matching the frame numbers lins
the marks up nearly exactly, the start and end in teh same places
but some are longer at places then others, the marks get darker
as the film number increase, it is barly noticable at fram 1 but

Hey all, I?ve been shooting for a while and just recently have come
across an issue with HP5, I shot a bunch of rolls for an assignment
and after i processed them I noticed a line through the center of
almost all of my shots, it appears dark on the negatives and light on
the prints, so one would assume that light is hitting the negative
sometime before its processed, because it is not a chemical issue.
When I first saw this I figured it was my camera, so i took the roll
of film that was in the camera out I had shot 13 of 36 exposures and
processed it to see if it happened there also. after I processed the
film the line was there again in the exact same place on all of the
frames, and to my surprise it appears on shots above 13, all the way
to exposure 36, This lead me to believe that it wasn?t the camera at
all, so I processed a roll of film that i hadn?t shot, just took it
out of the box and developed it, and yes the line is there also, brand
new roll of film has this line through all of the frames above 10 the
line goes horizontally through the frames in exactly the same place,
Seeing as that last roll showed it and it was not shot at all, it
cannot be my camera and must be the film, so I?m guessing I just
received a bad batch of film from Ilford? It only happens on the rolls
of 36 that I have not the rolls of 24, I will post a scan f one of
then in a few so you all can see it,
Now I?m wondering what I should do, I have 8 more rolls of HP5 that
I?m afraid to shoot, should I contact Ilford? And if so what do I tell
them?

if you cant print Tiffs on your printer save it to a Tiff file and then open that TIFF and SAVE AS a Jpeg, you cant go from raw-jpg you have to do raw -> tiff or psd -> jpeg
actually you should just do raw -> PSD and print from there. PSDs are uncompressed as well and they work pretty much everywhere

well i went ahead and just got both, ordered teh D70 kit shoudl be here in 10 Days, and i got the Sigma Lens from B&H Used in mint condition for 100$ less then new, so im happy, better to have teh lens now then want it later and have to pay more for it
-
Kevin,
Thats kinda funny cause i ordered on from Ritz and they said they were expecting them the 3rd week in april, so i went searching, freestylephoto.biz had it instock online so i called to make sure and ordered one, i dont mind the shipping id rather pay a lil more for it then have to wait a month, amyway im psyched, cant wait for it to get here
-
its actually a pretty sweet lens, its buily well and takes really good pictures, i debated getting it also because i just ordered a Sigma 24-70 F2.8 for my film camera, but i ordered it anyway because if i found out i wanted it later it would have cost more to buy alone then with the kit
-
freestylephoto has the kits in stock, have a few actually i just called and ordered mine

Shun:
Thanks for teh advice but i dont think ill ever stop shoting film, for BB&W at least, i just love the dark room too much, ivebeen shooting non SLR digital for 2 years now and use film just as much, i am holding off on the film body i just wanted to get some opinions, hopefully ill be in art school next year for photo and ceramics, which is why i want to get a higher quality body
-
Dont worry about those G lenses factoring into the F90/F100 question i dont plan on keeping for any longer then i have too, I already stated that im getting the sigma to replace one of them, and when and if i start needing the use of a longer zoom lens ill replace the 70-300, but for as seldom as i use it its fine, it came with the N80 and actually takes decent pics in good lighting, that aside more opinions are welcome,
as someone states the lens that comes with the D70 cant be used fully with a Film SLR and that bothers me a lil bit, which is why i considered just getting the sigma

Hey All
I will be purchasing a D70 relatively soon, once some user reviews and
such get out, Im just wondering if its worth getting the lens that
comes with it, I currently have a Nikkor 50mm f/1.8 , 28-80 F3.3-5.6 G
and a Nikkor 70-300 F4.5-5.6 G. I plan on ordering either a Sigma -
24-70mm 2.8 EX DF when I order the D70 to replace the 28-80 Nikkor,
Knowing this should I get the lens that comes with the D70? I dont
need that extra wide end that much and the 36-105 equiv the sigma will
yield on the D70 will be fine, The price comes out to be about the
same for either lens combo, Im just wondering if you think its worth
the extra $$ to get the included lens also?
Another question: I want to upgrade my N80 body to something more pro
like, Im looking at either a used F90 or used F100's, seeing as a
used F100 costs 2x what I can get a used f90 for should I get it or
just bite the bullet and go with the F100 because its newer and will
be up to date for longer?
-
yea i dont see it being any more expensive then 2K at most, most likely around 1500 if they want to sell them
-
when are we gonna know a price for this thing? and when is it gonna be
available? i want to know because if its reasonable ill get one
instead of a D70
-
I recently used mine in maine weather was -40F and it was fine i shot all day, wind chill was pushing -100F, i was skiing and when i wasent shooting it was in my bag, i didnt notice ant issues, my digital had issues tho
-
the D100 cant do ISO 100, the lowest it will do is 200, just like the D70
yes no mirror lock up will be annoying to some, also it has a Pentamirrir instead of a pentaprism like the D100 has, i beleive it has a slower AF drive as well, and the build is plastic but that is really a personal issue.
Will a Nikon N80 Fog Maco Cube 400c & Rollei R3 like it fogs HIE?

im not going to be using Cube and R3 for IR but i just want to make
sure i don’t mess it up in the process
