Thank you Alton for your comment. I really appreciate all the help I can get. I am just starting out and currently taking a digital photography course. It's nice to be able to share my work with other non biased people. My husband likes all my work, but that isn't very helpful sometimes as you need critique to grow, right? I will post the original for you so you can see the changes that I made. I changed the picture because I saw the mistake and fixed it. But I will post the original so you can see for yourself. If you have any comments for the original, please do.

  1. The composition is good. Honestly if it were me I would try to brighten it some to bring out the details, then again my moniter isn't the world's greatest and tends to be darker on my screen. I think it's a very good first try.

I took this picture of my son in my kitchen with a black backdrop

and created this look in photoshop. I really need some opinions on

it, it's one of my first portraits and I think I am a little

    biased...:) Any suggestions?

    Steve,

Wonderful job on this picture! Very creative and very fun. It makes me smile! I can't make any suggestions on it because I think it's perfect the way it is. And if your "client" is happy with it, why mess with a good thing? I love the concept! Your daughter is very lucky to have a dad like you.

I'm not sure what you had in mind when creating this picture but when I first saw your picture it made a big impact on me. To me, it represents the environment and how people seem to treat it by walking all over it. This could represent the ozone layer because of the cracks in the sidewalk/clouds. It is very unique and very moving. Thank you for sharing your artwork with us. I do however think you could work a little more on the shoe in the left corner. Thank you again for sharing.
