This is wonderful, the kind of shot I'm always trying to get. In a more perfect world, there would be more light underneath. Still, there is a lot of detail as it is, and I love it.

Showing beauty in a nude non-slender non-model requires some originality. Yet it appears it wasn't terribly difficult to do so. There truly is beauty here, but not of the conventional commercial variety. Thanks to both the photographer and the model.

I'm thinking of entering this photo in a local biodiversity-themed
photo contest (Columbia County, NY). Is this a potential winner, even
though some people don't find snakes attractive?

There is something uh.... unified about the colors, combined with perfect balance of elements that compels me to rate this a 7 for aesthetics. A real standout.

The auto levels function in Photoshop is always worth a try.

Thanks for your feedback. I was afraid bees simply weren't an interesting enough subject for most people...

Is this photograph too busy?

Very nice. Tones are lovely. The crop works for me.

I specialize in flowers, landscapes, animals, etc., and I like this photo. It reminds me of a recent rattlesnake photo I recently took because the subject is beautiful, dangerous, noble, and worthy of capturing well on film. A tattoo is simply another form of makeup: done well, it enhances natural beauty. I only wish the tattoo here were a little sharper.

I wouldn't want to crop any of the black off the top. The black is like glue that holds the whole thing together. It anchors all of the lower contrast parts of the composition, giving them a solid foundation to hang from.

I am dumbfounded by this photograph. Yes, it is like a painting, and yes, the composition is perfect. I love it, and everything about it that should be a flaw just makes the whole thing work. On a page with other photographs, this stands out dramatically.
