From my experience, warrantys are nebulous affairs which can mean whatever the grantor cares to allow at the time a claim is made.
It seems that a warranty is a privilege, not a right, which may be rescinded at any time. If your claim against a warranted product is honored, consider yourself fortunate! Just my opinion. Best wishes, Bill

My Hexar RF with a B+W filter does not dislay this anomaly.

Theeraputh, for many years I developed film using a daylight loading tank which I rinsed in the sink. I made prints in the bathroom and washed them in the bathtub. Just cover any window and seal under the door to keep out the light. Best of luck, Bill

The rear eyepiece lens of the Hexar RF can and does loosen and fall off. Without the lens, things are very blurry. God luck, Bill

The words "Leitz" and "Wetzlar" are incorrectly spelled on the camera as "Letz" and "Wetzler". Does anybody else see that? Best, Bill

I don't think that I would take surrepetitious shots of strangers in a gambling venue and then post them on the internet! That seems to me to be high risk behavior!.. But, have fun, folks, if you disagree. best, Billy

My personal feeling is that I would offer no more than $2000 for ANY used, digital, electronic camera, if I wanted one, which I do not! Best, Bill

Good God, Peter! Run out and buy yourself a Leica whilst you still have some brass left. You KNOW you want one! Best, William

You say that the little screw is "sticking up". It definitely should be flush and snug. Why not try to tighten it with a properly fitting screwdriver?

Self made men and cameras are classic examples of unskilled labor!

Luis, I use the rubber shades with my Nikon SLRs and agree that they are no problem with SLRs. Used with a rangefinder camera, the flared rubber shades block out nearly half of the viewfinder! Be happy that you have a retractable hood, it's the best invention since sliced bread for us rangefinder diehards. Best regards, Bill

There is much difference between a Canon and a "cannon"!
One is a Japanese optic and the other is an artillery piece.

I agree with Alex, "lower your standards"! I find that I sometimes become too picky about subject material and thus shoot nothing. A few beers to loosen up the flow of creative juices also helps some. Best wishes, Bill

Ray, I think that the days of "trophy, collectible" cameras are about over, so let's gather them up while they still exist! Bill

Ray, the apprehensive tone of your query reveals that you already know the answer. Best wishes, Bill

I think I'll give up having sex. After reading this thread, I've come to realize that it costs too much! ;<))

Nudes? I don't see any nudes ; do YOU see any nudes? Where ARE all these nudes? I like nudes. Best regards, Bill ;<))

The ever ready case sold by Leica is very nice, and surely not the most expensive, new or used.

Emir, you say you've owned a Bessa in the past, so just go to a camera shop and examine the Zeiss Ikon. If it appears to be a rebadged Bessa ,as others have suggested, don't buy it. If you can recognize quality workmanship and design when you see it, buy the Zeiss Ikon! I have owned one for 2 years, and I love it. The viewfinder is the brightest around and the lighter weight is refreshing in the hand after a long day. It also offers some of the finest lenses to be had, at bargain prices! Best wishes, Bill

Camila, I own a Zeiss T and a Summicron in 50mm focal length. Both are excellent lenses but I believe you could buy a new Zeiss for the price of a used Summicron, so if money is a big issue I would go with the Zeiss. Have you checked Popflash.com for Zeiss pricing? Best regards, Bill

I prefer to use the built in shade. It's always ready and I've had no flare problems. I don't understand those who have flare issues with the retractable hood on a 50mm lens; perhaps they're astronomers photographing the sun. Yes, the hood retracts easily, so just don't push it! It can be easily extended again as well. You can always add another hood when you wish, but if you don't have the retractable hood, you might just find yourself with NO hood on occasion! Best wishes, Bill

The only time I ever encountered a copy of Fortune magazine was in the office of my wife's gynecologist.

I was also poor and craving a Leica, so over time I acquired numerous knockoffs beginning with 1934 FED, then Bessa, then Hexar. Finally I came into some cash and got my MP. There is no comparison. I wish I'd gotten the Leica at once and saved a lot of time and money. Best wishes, Bill
How much would a cleaning cost (Lens & Camera?)
