I have to disagree with Mr. O'Neill, 5 is good which means 4 is less than good. 3

sucks and 2 and 1 are reserved for sending someone a strong message that you don't

like the photo. That's the reality that I'm living in. I almost never give ratings unless I

can give at least a 5. In terms of critiques, I complained about this woman's lack of

sensitivity and she tore me a new one while slandering my name across her porfolio

and others! I won't soon do that again. I can tell when one of my images is a stinker,

it takes a long time to reach ten rates because the best photographers don't give out

poor ratings.

I like this idea of a third rating, the originality score is rarely used that way, more as a

secondary idea, in fact, it seems like some folks don't know what the word means. It

would be nice if originality marks were for just that. What about not having to rate in

each category? Great technique on that boob shot, but it's not an original boob.

You guys are both right. Actually, I didn't know there was an abuse section but it's not

worth bothering further with, thanks.

I'm wondering about the idea of rating yourself a 4.5. If that's all the better you think

of your images, wouldn't refrain from posting them? I go from the assumption that

everyone thinks their own stuff is at least very good. When I am rating pictures, I

almost never give a 4 or less, I just don't rate that picture at all. It's onlt when

someone posts something truly offensive that I would issue less than a 4, I have

learned that it stings when someone flings a 2 or a 1 or even a 3 at your feet.

Does anyone know who AlF alien is? He gave me a 1/2 rating on one of my photos

that was rated high by almost everyone else. When I emailed him to find out why, the

address stated as his- grackle@torg.com, came back as not being a real address. He

has no pictures posted but he seems to enjoy giving people bad ratings. His average

is 3.36/3.47.

On one of his critques he goes by the name Randy. This seems like kind of a nasty

thing to do, get an alias and then hand out bougus ratings to people. Anything we

can do about old Alfie?

I'd sure like to have one more choice in the gallery search. I'd like to be able to see

the newest portfolios so I can see what has just come in rather than searching

through all the porfolios to the end.
