Maybe a conversion to B&W? There are not really enought colors to hold my interest here otherwise... I do like the idea of curving parrallels, it is much more original than the plain old side by side straight down a line.

Love the shadows, having half the face covered. The hand being there is great placement! Good job! 6/7

(To get a 7/7 rotate the image so that it is not crooked.)

If anything had to be redone here it is the exposure... instead of metering off of the sweatshirt I would have metered off the face so that the highlights are not overblown. I like the idea of having the sea as a background though. 4/5

haha, yeah... I am not sure how that happened. We were at Epcott Center at the time and it was just pouring, tropical storm or something. I guess they just shake water off fast.
  1. Very good, you got lucky with the weather being perfect for this kind of picture. I have to disagree with Calin though. I prefer to see only part of the full plates. I have taken a lot of picture like this always including all of the signs and have been consistantly diassapointed with the overhwelming majority of negative space that I am left with. I like your novel approach of cutting off the edges. Good use of diagonals. (obviosley) Overall: I like it. :)

This is my favorite photo in the Parrallels folder! Good job seing this. I am not sure that i would have picked it out, or even thought of photographing it. My compliments as well for finding the right color to change the background to, it looks ten times better than the original that is posted below it. Gold awalys seems to work, it evokes a good feeling from people, which in turn leads to more heartfelt and feeling critiques. The illusion of water is very well done, was it hot in the room or something? ( heat waves lol) But seriousley, well done!

    Party time!

Cool. It brings me back to the time when I was a little kid looking at my party stuff. The soft colors were a good choice here, much better looking than a garish collection of neon straws. Have you considered trying a filter with this? Maybe a circulizer or wide angle, might have some interesting effects that you had not thought of. I think that you should stick with the colors though. I personally did not like the B&W that I saw of this too much.

The knife creates tension, the circle relieves it, the eaten chease and crumbs implies something has just happened. I really like the story that comes flowing out of this picture. Probably my view is a bit biased because I like Brie so much. Even the subtle things like texture of the cloth are taken into account to make them flow along the diagonal. I really like this photo. Keep experimenting it is working.

    Spectre

I love the duotone/greyscale pallete that you have chosen. It really accentuates the faces and highlights the hair to make it more wiry, fitting for a spectre. I would like it more if the eye was worked on a little more though. The color is a good choice however I dislike the simplicity of it's rendering. It is the focal point of the image and should have a little more detail than simply a red ball.

Very original and creative kudos for that!

Yes thank you. I do know that street photography is very different from what I have here but I feel that this photo best fits into this category more than "Abstract", "Fashion" or "Still Life".

Placing photos under "uncategorized" has been a bad thing for me in the past.

But I took while walking down the street. Therefore it is a street category photo. Besides thereis no "ad" category so this seemed most apporpriate.

    La Jolla Cove

Nice capture of La Jolla! I used to come here when I was a little kid... and I might go there a lot next year if I go to UCSD. The only thing I have to ask about is: why is this is San Diego, Vietnam? haha... yeah, good photo.
