Thanks so much Ed! I had the hardest time finding info on the camera! Anyone else out there who may have been able to use the camera and compare the 202 and 203 - please contribute!
Thanks again!

I was planning on purchasing a Horizon 202 camera to do some
panoramic photography (no need to tell me about the other brands).
I went on e-bay today and noticed the new Horizon 203 S3 Pro. Does
anyone know anything about the newer camera? I have gotten all
kinds of info on the 202, but can't find any (in English anyway)
about the Horizon 203 S3 Pro. Have there been any improvements
made?
Help!!!

Let me clarify... What I am actually referring to are what Nikon would call "DX" flashes or what Quantum would call the new "T4D". Again, they are flashes that are specifically designed for digital cameras. (I realize what the "D" lenses are.) The pre-flash referred to in the first response is something that Nikon already has on their flashes for the film cameras (i.e. the sb-28, sb-80). Anyone else know anything else about this subject???
-
What are the advantages of parabolic flashes (such as the quantum
line of flashes) over a regular speedlight?
Thanks!
-
Will someone please explain to me the difference between "D" flashes
supposedly made specifically for digital cameras and those flashes
that are not?
Thanks!

I am interested in this Stroboframe R-4b that you are referring to. Two questions... Is the cable release removeable, and does the frame of the bracket get in the way of you using the vertical grip and shutter release? And when you say that the bracket is wobbly on the tripod, what exactly do you mean? How bad is it?

Hey everyone! I am currently attempting to use the Stroboframe
Camera-Flip bracket and like it... except for two things. When I
flip the camera to vertical, my SC-17 attachment on the camera shoe
is hitting the handle of the bracket, and I can't comfortably use
the vertical shutter release because the metal plate that the camera
is resting on gets in the way!!!
I need a flash bracket that has a handle on the left-hand side that
I can hold onto (like the current bracket) and that allows me to
freely and comfortably use the vertical grip and shutter release.
What do you recommend???? (By the way, the reason I want the handle
is that these models that are made so that you can hold the camera
seem like they would be REALLY awkward and off-balance! Any
comments on this also welcome!)

I am really frustrated with the results that I have gotten (or have
not gotten) with the use of polarizing filters. I currently am using
one from B+W. It is linear polarizer but still has the separate ring
that you can turn to adjust the polarization. Anyway, I can't get
pictures with consistent blue sky!!!!!!! Why? I end up with a
really bland, washed out sky! I did notice the other day that when I
turned the camera vertically, that I got a picture with a blue sky.
Is it simply an adjustment of the ring on the filter that I need to
be making? Help!!!!!!

I have purchased Kodak's high speed infrared black and white film and
noticed no specific ISO on the box (which I haven't opened yet).
What is the ISO and/or how do I determine this? I am going to be
shooting a test roll or two.
Thanks.

I simply would like to know if infrared film can be shot in the N90s
and the F100 and what the names of the two different frame counters
are that affect the camera's ability to do so.
Thanks!

My wife and I are looking to get another F100. We also already have
an N90S that will act as our third camera. However, I am wondering
about the possibility of replacing the N90S with the F4. What makes
the F4 the more expensive camera to buy used, and what makes it
better than the N90S? How does it compare to the F100?
Thanks!

Other than the Nikor 35-70 2.8D, Nikon doesn't have any other good
moderate zooms with a fast aperture. I am looking at the Tamron 28-
105 2.8D and would like to get some feedback on performance and
quality of this lense in conjuction with Nikon AF cameras,
particularly the F100 (if it matters). Thanks!

I hope to be doing a special and unique portrait of my Grandfather
over the holidays, and may be using a close-up filter to achieve my
desired effect. Do I have to over-expose to compensate for these
filters at all?
Thanks!

Thanks for the answers so far, but I'm wondering if there is a particular part that I need to purchase to put on a light stand that actually holds the umbrella? Thanks!

I have been delving into the world of medium format ( a Bronica)
which I have been getting some nice results with, and have been
learning to use the Vivitar 285 flash with it. I'm wondering if
there is a way to put one of these flashes on a light stand with an
umbrella. Does anyone make a kit or outfit that would work like
this, or this there a way to make one myself? I realize that this
flash is not especially powerful, but I can't afford to get anything
more than a 285 right now... Any information would be great!!!
Thank you!

I would like to purchase a close-up filter for my Bronica's 150mm
lense so that I can photograph a close-up of a face. I would like to
purchase a B+W filter but am not sure whether or not to get a #1, #2,
#3, or #4. Does anyone know how to figure this out or have a
recommendation?
Thanks for your help!

I am using a Vivitar 285 flash with my Bronica 645 ETRSi, and it
works great, but the 3-foot pc cord from Vivitar is just not long
enough for me to move the tripod very far away from the camera. Does
anyone know if there is a 6-foot or longer PC cord that exists out
there that I can use with this set-up?
Secondly, will a simple, generic pc cord work with this camera and
flash set-up, or do I have to specifically purchase a Vivitar cord?
Thanks!

I am in the process of putting together a medium format set-up which
includes the ETRSi, a 75mm lense, a speed grip, 120 back, and
standard prism. I also be purchasing a cable release and 150mm PE
lense.
I need advice on what type of on-camera flash I should purchase
(Quantum, etc.), what bellows hood I should get and where, and what
heavy-duty model tripod I should get for sturdy support (model
number, etc.)
Thanks for your advice!

I need to know opinions on whether or not the RB67 or GS-1 camera is
going to be a better choice for me as a wedding and portrait
photographer, and an overall opinion on the GS-1 as a camera (I heard
a "rumor" that this camera will be or may be phased out of
production - is that true?).
Thanks for everyone's time again.

I have seen related subjects at this forum, but I will be more
specific. I am in the market for a medium format camera. I will be
using it for weddings and portraiture. I realize that the Bronica
ETRSi is lighter weight/more portable, but I also like the potential
quality of a 6x7 negative as opposed to a 645, and the rotating back
of the RB.
What is the better choice for me? Am I going to have to turn the
Bronica on it's side every time I want to shoot in the vertical
format (does it come in the horizontal setting)? How much difference
is there in quality between the 645 and 67? And lastly, is it hard
to find a flash system that is compatible with the Bronica (a friend
of mine uses the Vivitar? 285 flash w/ his RB67).
Thanks for your time!

Can someone tell me the difference between the RB67 Pro-S and the Pro-
SD and if the lenses, backs, and prisms are compatible with each
other? Thank you for your time and help!

I am in the market for a medium format camera, and I am pretty much
down to two cameras - the Mamiya RB67 pro-SD and the 645 AFD. The
AFD seems to be more practical for me, but from what I understand,
the maximum flash sync speed on the Mamiya 645 AFD is 1/125 sec. What
I need to know is if that is going to be fast enough for all-around
use and particularly for fill-flash (the RB has flash sync up to
1/400 sec. if I remember correctly). I am going to use the camera
for portrait as well as wedding photography, and may need to use fill
flash outside. Is there someone that has used the camera for these
purposes and can give me some knowledgeable feedback on this subject
(and maybe even a link to a website with pictures taken with their
645AFD? Thank you for your help!

Slow Coolwalker! What's my solution?
in The Digital Darkroom: Process, Technique & Printing

Just purchased a Nikon Coolwalker, and it took 20 minutes to dowload a
2GB Lexar 80x card to it... and the card wasn't even full! Any
recommendations as to a portable data storage device that is quicker
and reliable? I have heard of the Nexto, but it makes me nervous to
purchase a product that isn't sold my big-name retailers such as B&H...
Thanks for your help in advance!
