  1. annie....I looked at your pictures,,there all nice shots(don't like cats much they make sneeze)....you seem to have a good eye for what can make very good pictures.. but as allready stated, many here are outstanding ptogs and have seen it all and are judging you not on a beginner with optio scale but "on the big boy's scale" (as should be). If you go back and look at some of the "pictures of the week" posted on this site you will be awed by most of them. And if you look at it as thousands of complete strangers are looking at your work and giving it 3,4 or so on the big boy's scale,,, that put's you well above alot of the people out there taking pictures (you could give my dad a $1500 camera,I did, and he still would not have seen the dog shot).....So don't run away...there is a ton to learn here from alot of great people and when you do run into one of the trolls spreading bad vibes from there dank little workstation just move on.......again.....nice pics...keep at it
  2. I think the line is are you a photographer or a graphic artist.....Is it the hunt or the kill that you are after..you are right it makes no difference but some of us just like to "do it" outdoors with the whole world watching not hunkered over a keyboard in the basement. I'm sure I've offended a bunch of photoshoppers.. and I don't mean to..most of us "work" the files a little. And I envy the skills of the gentlemen mentioned above.... just try not to belittle us shooters for trying to do it in the field.<div>00DUid-25576384.jpg.70ff4d548482b5c64a09bd7cdfe90939.jpg</div>
  3. jr.com is another solid company with great pricing...i also like 512 meg cards...the price per meg is still very good and you can burn one whole card to a cd with one click for backup purposes, no splitting up sessions between multiple disks...I just carry more cards.
  4. and if your talking about consumer grade short zooms, it wins hands down. If you want to spend some money get yourself some extra flash power. I think a 50mm and a good 90' guide number flash will get you "more better pics" than the 28-100 lense. while we are there, ask some of these guy's about using the flash in manuel most of them do not completly trust the "auto" results.
  5. i'm not sure because i've never tried but couldn't you just delete the photo from your portfolio and then repost it under another file name?...and try to remember your dealing with VERY knowledgable people (not me) tring to help. this is a nice, very colorfull picture hurt by DOF issues.
