1.
Great news! I emailed Freestyle and got the following response:
Hi Matt

We have this item on order. It is due on or about 12/7/09. Our item
number will be 810827. It has not been activated on our website because
of the due date. However if you want to place an order you can call our
telesales department with the item number and they will be able to enter
your order. The price will be $7.99 per roll.

Here is the complete description: Item # 810827 ROLLEI RETRO 80S 127
WITH CAN SYNTHETIC/POLYESTER BASE

Marv Keller
Manager,
Customer Service & Consumer Direct Sales

Order some! Let's show Freestyle (and Rolliefilm/Aga) that there's a demand for this stuff.

-Matt

 2.
What I really meant to ask is are your scans of MF originals better than the D200 if you apply unsharp masking to the raw scans from the V500/600/700/750?
Guido, have you applied USM to your V750 scans with Photoshop (et. al.)? If not, I'm interested to see if there's any improvement. Also, the film carriers have height adjustments and the web site I mentioned found a noticable improvemnet at a different height setting than the default; see http://www.photo-i.co.uk/Reviews/interactive/Epson%20V700/page_13.htm. Have you tried this?
I have no experience with this stuff myself and am also looking to enter this arena (actually with a yashica-44 and various 127 films), so I'm not arguing here, just asking :).

 3.
From what I've read at http://www.photo-i.co.uk/Menus/reviews_frame.htm it's important to apply unsharp masking to raw scans before comparing them to digital output because that's usually done in camera in modern DSLRs.
That's a great site for reviews on flatbed film scanners, though it seems a bit dated. There's no info on the V500s or V600s for example.
