A very nice abstraction. I like this a lot. The grey palette and fuzzy feel are a nice counterbalance to the crisp graphic quality of the shapes contained here.

Vanessa, this is a nice subject you have here. Also, I like the close crop on the sides. However, it seems a bit overexposed and perhaps a bit out of focus.

I think this is the first butterfly/flower image I have ever commented on, but it really caught my eye. Great composition, but the lighting is even better. Just beautiful!
  1. This is WONDERFUL! I love the dog's expression and the feeling of balance as he looks up at us while the hill slopes down behind him. Also, really excellent exposure vales. Great job all around.

Mike: I have just been enjoying a nice browse through your folder. There are so many nice images that it's hard to know where to start, so I'll start here with the most recent! I love this it's extremely evocative, as are many of your images. Lovely mood. It puts me in mind of your Cottonwood in a Storm, which I also love. I am not usually a huge fan of photoshop effects, but this one is quite nice.

Nice abstract, but to heighten the effect, I would crop the bottom to just belown the 'curve' on the left - to mirror the right side.

Kevin, I am confused about what exactly you are conveying. Also, the blurred rail on right keeps drawing my eye away from the rest of the image. Looks like an interesting location.

p.s. I am editing this comment - back to say that I just looked through the rest of your portfolio and don't believe this one is representative of the talent shown in the other images you have posted.

I would crop the top to omit the bottom window sash and at bottom to the place where the top pillowcase ends. This would eliminate a lot of visual distraction and focus on those wonderful smiles. Great moment!
