Lovely face and I like the contrast between top right and bottom left corner. and I love the calmness here... you should take much more photos of this lady :)

best regards

Thank you Jennifer and Agata. It was a very calm moment when I took the picture. We are good friends and she is very photogenic. I used available light to enhance the calmness of the moment. Agata, I think I will do a photo session with her to experiment with my cameras.

I like the square framing for portraits......I want a Hasselblad ;-( :-( :-( sniff, sniff...

David thanks for considering the suggestion. I think the image is enhanced...but then maybe my view is a bit biased. I agree with Agata, I think you should shoot more with her, she has wonderful features.

David , do not you think the cover of the sofa set in the background is slightly distracting , a sort of intruder in the romantic set up ?

Hi Tuhin:

No romance involved, not a romantic moment or place. It was my office about 1:00pm after lunch. She was there, I had the camera, I asked for her permision and took the picture. There was no photographic intention other than getting to know my camera and taking RAW files to practice in photoshop. The sofa, you are right, it is distracting.

in my opinion sofa is sofa, normal thing. this one has no pattern and looks like it is a nice piece of furniture. the only thing could be the horizontal stripe, but i think it's not so terrible. in the end it is a portrait of a woman sitting on a SOFA.. seams natural that the sofa will be on the photo.. actually it helps to imagine the situation. I like it as it is.

I said romantic set up and not any romance involved !!!! You need not defend !!!

Would you please see my picture no.2177576 with caption brother and sister. Please see the ratings , I feel the picture has been under rated . It seems to me the raters in general are emphasizing more on technicalities rather than the "feel" or the warmthness of the picture . Please leave your comments there.

Best of luck , looking forward to seeing more pictures from you ( and do not forget to change your portrait!!).

Gracias Frederic. Busqué el famoso look CN. También me gusta el B&W. Estoy en planes de un pequeño laboratorio casero.

Yes David. This image is much better. The original shows more of the wired loop on the couch which looks like a noose. I think if you clone away the lower loop here the image will appear more pleasant. Lovely model and beautiful composition.

David--I'm going to go against the flow here, and state that I DON'T care for the square crop--although I do think it's a decent compromise for getting rid of the problematic elements in the original.

My dislike of the square, however--doesn't take away from my enjoying this photo! It's lovely! Soft, pensive, dreamy... Beautiful model--beautifully captured--and good Photoshop work, as well.

Major pats on the back for capturing it! :-)

Strong portrait.

I like the overall lighting and the slight hint of light in her right eye.

Nicely done.

Buenos dias Imanol. Gracias por comentar. La modelo esta haciendo funciones de mama. Esto fue probando la camara digital cuando me la compre. No visible, la caja esta al lado de ella con todo y manuales...:-)

I have gone back and forth to both images...I like the square and I like all that IS there in the full frame version... I love the natural light you painted this portrait with...she probably is one of those women who hate to be photographed....but is stunning!!

If I was to nit-pick...even though I like the her looking through the frame...I might try comming in even tighter on the right side, even with her shoulder...my eyes continue around the frame because the lines on the cushion keep me going back to eyes...Very well done! please show more!!

Well thanks Juan! I am pleasantly surprised you visited my portfolio.

Ariadna is not camera shy, actualy she has been a model in a few commercials plus she went to study at The Actor's Studio in NY. It was me saying, look down, bring up your shoulders a bit, etc, etc. She is also a copywriter for an ad agency, she came to my suite to work as I was unpaking my camera. I needed to test the camera. I was lucky to have her there.

I like the square ratio in photography, this was my attempt to do some but you are right I should crop all the way to her shoulder.

peace
