Tech pan is going to out resolve any lens on that Canon. Tech Pan resolves up to 600 lpm. The Canon resolves 160 LPM. and it sounds like the tech pan was shot on 42 sq. cm. of film resolving 600 lpm as opposed to 7sq. cm. resolving 160 lpm! It's not even close. Keep your tech pan on a larger imaging surface and use the 5D for wedding's, fashion and journalism...Oh and by the way, Tech pan on small format would have killed the 5D just the same...It's just math. Don't forget this is a craft and not some flaky art!
Thanks,
Michael

I think the whole idea of this shot is that it is sharp. Bobby is basically showing you an image that was recorded on 80 sq. inches of film that is resolving 160 lpm. This shot is a drum scanned from the detail of the crop shown.
Don't worry I think am talking over the heads of just about everybody on this sight, including the EVLES!
BOO HOO,,,
Nice shot Bobby, I would say that this is a good shot that was double exposed on 8x10 that will be looked at for historical value in a 100 years because of it's detail. Oh, and by the way, you actually have to had a knowledge of range, a light meter and the ability to doo this all on 2 stops of range.
Well done.
Kind regards,
Michael

Good job on the lack of depth of field Sauciuc.
The image is brilliant and holds my attention for a long time.
Thanks, Michael

I love this shot Barry.
If you ever need some Tec Pan let me know. I have a couple thousand sheets of 5x7.
Thanks,

Good job on that flag Jeremy.
I would like to have this print. Would you consider a trade for one of mine?
Thanks,

Great image. I love the tones and your depth of field.

I think this is your best shot.
Next time wait for a good sky and use a polarizer.

I think it's pretty awsome. good flash and a good sky.

I like it Mathew.
I have been shooting a lot of this stuff for Pipeline companies and consider a welder a piece of art.
I think it would really be cool to put a nude in the visor of the welding mask as a reflection. I don't know just a thought. You do it or I may.
Thanks Buddy,

I really like this shot.
I would like to suggest that you try provia rdp111 over the velvia.
Provia resolves 160 lpm and velvia resolves 75 lpm. Also provia will give you better shadow detail and better saturation once you digitize.
Good work,

This reminds me of one of those places that you just look at and feel lucky to be alive. The name that you have chosen is perfect. At first glance I thought of a church.
Anyway, great contast, color, range and composition.
Only one complaint with the image, you took a great shot on an imaging suface the size of a postage stamp. Other than that, I'm a fan of it.

Lucky?
Luck has nothing to do with it. I'm sure Pennie planned the shot. She had the
Idea than she scouted the area than she asked the locals when the camel
caravans leave than she looked for good composition and light and so on and
so on...
People always say how lucky I was to get those conditions when the fact of
the matter is I was there for 8 days freezing my ass off.
Nice clean work Pennie.

I?ve seen grain like this when you travel with your film and have x-rayed 10
different times. You will also see grain like this when you are trying to hard to
make a shot work by dodging and burning.
To me the? the grain ruins the shot because the same mystic affect could have
been achieved using most pan film?s with proper filters. Plus, a pan film like
Tec-Pan would have resolved 550 lpm as apposed to 150 lpm. That?s a big
difference especially when you are limited to a 35mm format.
Anyway, I like the shot but the technical faults restrict me from saying that it is
worthy of a POW.

I like this shot, it's not easy to photograph a bike.

p.s. it deserves more than the 3's and 4's that it is being rated

Nice range

This is my favorite shot. I would like it even more if you could have incorporated the sign on the first building on the left hand side. Fantastic, you must have been up real early not to capture any locals and the fog.
Great shot, Michael

Coken #3 is my most used filter. Nice shot with very good tones and the right amount of contrast. Why this shot has not been rated more is beyond me.
Great work.

Yup, gotta agree with fred. The light source is inconsistant in the image. Looks good though.
