4x5 field camera for scan-back & film in Large Format Posted July 30, 2003 I have been using a Better Light scan back in the studio. Now I am interested in using it in the field. I predict times when a 'snap shot' will be the only way of getting a shot (like from a boat), so film will be used occasionally. I'd like to get a field camera that is light and easy to carry since I am interested in carrying the kit away from the car (but no overnight hikes). I use 90, 150, 210 and 300 lenses, and want to start off on a low budget (<$500 hurts a little, >$800 hurts lots). I have been looking at Tashihara, Toyo CF, Shin Hao, and similar, as well as used cameras including Graflex, MPP, etc. I can focus with the scan-back when in digital mode, but I would like to at least be able to focus at infinity with my lenses using rail stops (most shots would be landscape), and a focus scale should work for other shots. Any suggestions?
