Thank you for the kind comments. I like it too. I only wish I had a longer lens with me. The bird is on a building that sits out on a pier in the Atlantic Ocean off of Daytona Beach in Florida. I was standing on the boardwalk and shooting out across the water to get this shot. Unfortunately, it required a more severe crop than I normally prefer to get the final shot I was looking for.

An older shot from a few years ago in Daytona Beach, Florida. Hadn't
noticed the reflection in the window before. I think it shows a different
side of nature. Thoughts/suggestions welcome and appreciated...
Thanks

Lamb taking a rest at Longstreet Farm (Holmdel Park) in New Jersey
(USA). Can't take credit for the staging, just in right spot at right time
with kit in hand.

Powerful contrast between the intensity of the blue sky and the rich yellow of the sunflower made even better by the sharp focus of plant in foreground (nice DOF here) and the angled horizon. The only distraction is the obvious sharpening/burning in the sky towards the lower third of image. Otherwise, superb.

Daring perspective on this shot (I'm assuming it was almost forced due to the tightness of the surroundings and your available lens choices - if not, even more daring, and successful, choice of perspective). I like what it does with the various lines and curves. Nice handling of the lighting in what I'm sure was difficult conditions.

Nice concept and fun shot of a model in a lighter context; however, as a portrait it would be better if her face was in focus rather than her foot, knee and lower portion of dress - especially since she seems to have a cute expression as she concentrates and balances on the rail. As simply a great, fun shot (rather than a portait), it definitely rates the attached 6-6.

Water tower at former Deal Test Site, Ocean NJ. Several 18mm shots
photomerged in Photoshop CS3. Thoughts/Suggestions?

Old worker's cottage that's returning to nature. Shot in color, converted
to b/w. Thoughts, suggestions? Thanks, Mike

Several 18mm shots photomerged together to create an almost fisheye
effect. I know from the technical side, the building shouldn't curve to the
left. However, other than that, any other thoughts, suggestions?
Thanks,
Mike

New York City at night. Liked the angle of building, despite the bright
lights on the building behind to the left. Thoughts?

Such a range of color and light levels - great job on the compromises needed to have details in the shadows with little (except in the scene in the back right) blown out whites. What lens did you use to get this perspective?

Wow, I don't think I would have been able to stay still long enough to take this shot... Excellent...
-
Excellent detail and color... only thing I would even think about changing would be a tighter crop on the left so I seems the cat is coming right from the edge (without the distraction of the tree)... however, that would make it a different picture and I would be happy to have it either way... Bravo...

Nice blend of light and dark - wouldn't take out the mole, it's part of what gives this character and life...

Nice capture, love the expression, begs to tell a story of what's going through the mind.

Alaskan Kodiak bears. Photo taken at Silver Springs Florida.
Critiques/Suggestions welcome. Thanks.

Close-up of a baby alligator (through glass tank) at nature center in
Ponce Inlet, Florida. Was amazed when shot came out (room was fairly
dark and it was hard to find a clean spot on the glass that didn't
have kid's fingerprints on it).

Going through old "throw away" shots and decided to give this one
another look. Not sure what I didn't like about it back then, but
kind of like it now. Any thoughts/critiques appreciated. Thanks.

Scott, great shot by the way.
Not sure if you've come across this, but it seems your photo is being used on blogs such as: http://animalstalkinginallcaps.tumblr.com/post/11063705780/because-roger-because-theres-no-such-thing-as .
When I came across it here on photo.net I remembered thinking it was such a great shot when I saw it on that other site last week.
Again, I love the shot and the calmness of your dog here.
Mike
