  1. Thank you for the kind comments. I like it too. I only wish I had a longer lens with me. The bird is on a building that sits out on a pier in the Atlantic Ocean off of Daytona Beach in Florida. I was standing on the boardwalk and shooting out across the water to get this shot. Unfortunately, it required a more severe crop than I normally prefer to get the final shot I was looking for.
  2. An older shot from a few years ago in Daytona Beach, Florida. Hadn't

noticed the reflection in the window before. I think it shows a different

side of nature. Thoughts/suggestions welcome and appreciated...

    Thanks

Powerful contrast between the intensity of the blue sky and the rich yellow of the sunflower made even better by the sharp focus of plant in foreground (nice DOF here) and the angled horizon. The only distraction is the obvious sharpening/burning in the sky towards the lower third of image. Otherwise, superb.

Daring perspective on this shot (I'm assuming it was almost forced due to the tightness of the surroundings and your available lens choices - if not, even more daring, and successful, choice of perspective). I like what it does with the various lines and curves. Nice handling of the lighting in what I'm sure was difficult conditions.

Although I'm not the biggest fan of either pet or flower photos, I really like what you've accomplished with this one. It reminds me of the moody shots you see of a woman just out of the DOF with head down similar to this. Nice DOF and crop.

Nice concept and fun shot of a model in a lighter context; however, as a portrait it would be better if her face was in focus rather than her foot, knee and lower portion of dress - especially since she seems to have a cute expression as she concentrates and balances on the rail. As simply a great, fun shot (rather than a portait), it definitely rates the attached 6-6.

Looking through your portfolio makes me want to have fun with my 50m 1.8 lens as well. Nice eye and control of depth of feed on this and the rest of portfolio.

Alex, this is a simply stunning shot - from the frank expression of the model to the excellent depth of field to the great textures and color from the wall.

Such a range of color and light levels - great job on the compromises needed to have details in the shadows with little (except in the scene in the back right) blown out whites. What lens did you use to get this perspective?

Beautifully captured portrait - she seems to have a sadness in this shot, however (although it matches the fall theme with the leaves in the background). Prefer the more playful Carmen 7 shot, but both are excellent (as is the rest of the folder this shot is in).

Excellent detail and color... only thing I would even think about changing would be a tighter crop on the left so I seems the cat is coming right from the edge (without the distraction of the tree)... however, that would make it a different picture and I would be happy to have it either way... Bravo...
