Thanks for valuable suggestions about presentation of doors Steve. I like the idea of keeping the door a bit opened as if inviting in. But this door is in one of the towers at the town cemetry and I would not dare to open it even if I had the key

Amazing details on each and every curve. Superb!

Our daughter at 13 days. We would swaddle her up before putting her
down to sleep and she will find her way out of that when she woke up.
And will have that smart look on her face.

Thanks for the suggestion Bruce. I have been taking photographs for some time but have not invested any money or time in post processing. I think I need to get a copy of Photoshop now.

Thanks for your critique Carey. As for the verticals, the door itself was tilted to the left and I still don't know how to fix that using software.

Does this work? Suggestion to improve are most welcome.

Thanks Patrick. Shots in this folder are my first attempt at Candid photography. And I was also practising controlling depth of field. So I got carried away in throwing other people off-focus and did not realize that it was distracting in some shots. I have already received a couple of critiques saying I should have tried vertical shots. I will keep that in mind.

Is the placement of the subject right? I liked different lines in the
picture. Does this work for you? Suggestions to improve appreciated.

Is the placement of the subject right? I was told (in critique on other
picture) that I should have taken a vertical shot.

Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs is famous among the local
rock climbers. To me it seemed that this man at top was an inspiration
for others working their way up.
I am not sure if this angle is the best. Please critique.

Thanks for the feedback Meir. Did you mean that the person in the background is in the sun? I agree that a vertical looks cleaner.

I took this picture in broad daylight and hope I have captures the colors.
I was only a few feet away from the gentleman and it felt he was
watching me too but probably did not care much.
Please critique and let me know what you do not like about the picture.

I was at the Quincy market in Boston and this guy was trying to sell
belts to those two girls. The girl in white did actually try it on but didn't
end up buying anything. Well, at least he enjoyed flirting with them.
Please view larger. There are a couple of other pictures in the same
setting in my folder.

Beautifully captured.

I agree with you Jim that the picture is busy with no human element of interest. This was one of my first pictures where I used shutter speed control to capture actual light settings on the scene. Nothing special about the picture other than my excitement at first results. Thanks for visiting!
