    Joanie - I really like what you're trying to do here - the muted pastels and the softness. Perhaps some type of frame might help to accentuate your image.

    If this is about lighting and sharpness, I would agree with the low rating. However, I think this is a compelling portrait. The back lighting provides interest in the hair. The eyes, pouting lips and overall look are wonderful. I find the slightly off center cropping a little distracting.

    The Nile Scenes were shot from the Cruise ship with a 70 - 200 mm lens, sometimes with a 1.4x tele-extender. Thanks for the comments.
