    Gramps

Here is my grandfather. This is probably the best expression I've

photographed from him. I'm aware of the blown out area on top of his

head, but this was the way the negative was. Using a flash would of

helped, but I may have lost the darker skin tones on his face.

I love the idea behind this. I would have put a camera from the 50s as the second camera instead of two old ones from about the same era. That would work with the digital and show progression. Well done.
  1. The grain effect is interesting. Makes it look like really old B&W film or a pic you cropped really close on. It takes away the detail somewhat, but as an effect it looks good.
  2. I think the photo would improve for the distracting background- mainly the crane above her head. You may have wanted it there however. Also the lighting seems quite dark making it harder to see all thats in the picture. I would have picked a better time of day or when its sunnier. The black car as such is hard to see in this lighting. The pose is good.

    Fall Color Day

The day was somewhat overcast, so the sky was rather cloudy. The sun does not reach this spot in fall. In order to lighten up the area, I had to cut and paste the original sky as it was back into the lightened picture. The sky as above was as it was shot. A graduated density filter may of helped, but since the sky was cloudy white anyway- I don't think it would of helped.

I know this bridge. I used to live in that part of the city. Capilano Suspension bridge. Anyways its almost impossible to not get at least one person on that bridge as its a tourist attraction. Another interesting view would be more left.

    Fight

I used to have Siamese fighting fish. This is an old reminder of them. Great dynamic shot of them. I would have cropped a little closer however.
  3. My only other option is to put them in a folder and let people see them one by one, but then there's a good chance everyone won't see them in a row and all of them. This is why I posted them together here. And this is not the first time I've seen pictures in a series on Photonet.

    Lost in your eyes

Nina- love the photo. Those eyes are intense! With the zoom you used, where abouts in the range were you with this pic? Due to the eyes being larger I assume closer to wide angle, but the reflection of you in her eyes looks like you're back a bit and not right in her face. How close to her were you?
