The out of focus building in the background is very distracting. I'd either change your point of focus to the building from the railing, or shrink your aperature to get more of the entire composition in focus.

Well, the first question I have is "What is the subject?" I think that maybe I would choose one thing to focus on in this picture...maybe the red on the leaves on the left side of the frame, or the water itself. Either way, I would crop down the top to remove the swatch of white sky, because it is distracting.

Has a very "Galen Rowell" feel to it. The only thing I might have done differently was step just a couple of feet to the right, so that the branches of the close tree didn't touch each other in the silouette.
  1. I like the angle too. It makes it feel like the woman and the child are almost even in importance, and that the woman has to work to keep up with the child. The reflections are excellent as well.

I like this a lot. I think the balance of clipping off the corner of both the butterfly and the photo really works. It could have used a slightly smaller f/stop so that the entire butterfly was in focus.

Well, I think I would prefer the barn to be in focus, but I do agree that the out of focus leaves in the foreground detract from the shot. I like the placement of the bee, and the colours are really nice.
