  1. Hello everyone,

I want to say thanks to everyone that responded to my question.

I have read all of the posts and decided to order a 50 pack of film

3 1/4 x 4 1/4 from freestyle and play with the camera. I am sure that

several of the first exposures will not be the best but with 50 sheets of film

I should get a few that are worth printing. The film should be here sometime next

    week. Take care Scott

  2. Hello everyone,

I have wanted a graflex 4x5 speed graphic camera for a long time. I found what I thought was a 4x5.

I will admit that I did not read the listing as closely as I should have and I had a few to many beers that

night. I ended up buying a 3 1/4 x 4 1/4 speed graphic with 12 dual film holders and 3 lens filters. All of

functions seem to work just fine. I have read here on photo. net about cutting down 4x5 sheet film to

fit this camera, it does not sound to difficult. I have a good paper cutter. My enlarger is a beseler

45mxt, and I have a 4x5 negative holder that I can modify to hold the smaller negative.

I guess my question is would you keep the camera or put it back up for sale on ebay. Several

people were biding on the camera, I should be able to get my money back and then buy a 4x5

    speed graphic. Any thoughts

  3. Hello everyone,

I just got a new to me Pentax 645. This is my first medium format camera, it did

not come with a manual, but I have have found it online but have not found the

answer to my question. When I turn off the power switch the lcd display is still

on. Is this normal to the camera? With the power off I can not take a photo or

see the info inside the view finder. If I eject the battery pack the lcd

display turns off. I have film loaded in the camera and have taken a pics all

this is all working as it should.

Thanks to all who respond to this post.

    Take care,

    Scott

  4. I know have my answer, I loaded about 10 frames and developed them. They came out clear. So I decided to try it again and was only able to load a few frames and the counter stopped working. I opened the loader and there was not a 100ft of film but about a total of 15 frames of film left in the loader.

Thanks again to everyone that responded to my question.

  5. Hello everyone,

Thanks for the input, the color of the emulsion side is a tanish gray. The other side is a dark blue. I took a razor to the emulsion side and it appears to be only one layer. I am waiting on some reusable 35mm canisters to come in the mail and am planing on loading some film and developing it. For some reason I can't get the store bought ilford canisters to close. Maybe I opened the wrong end(flat end). The film developed ok but has black spots on it I am trying to figure out what went wrong there. If I can't that will be my next question to photo.net.

    Thanks again,

  6. Hello everyone,

I purchased a watson 66b bulk film loader off of ebay. I came with a preloaded

100ft roll of film. The seller did not know if it is color or b&w or the age of

the film. My questions are is there any way to tell if it color or b&w, Should I

go ahead and load a canister and try and develop it as b&w film and see what

happens. Or not even waste my time and just pitch the film and start from scratch.

Also I have no idea what the film speed is.

    Thanks in advance,

    Scott

  7. I got my new to me *ist ds yesterday. I love this camera, I should have gone

digital years ago. I don't plan on getting rid of my 35mm film cameras but I

just cant get over this digital slr. I have taken many pictures with it and

every time I try and advance the film. After all these years with 35mm slr's I

don't think I will ever loose that instinct to advance the film. I will try and

post some of my photo's this weekend. Between March Madness and Easter my

    weekend is kind of busy.

    Have a great weekend everyone.

  8. Del and Paul thanks for your input. Your info has been helpful. I have been using Pentax 35mm film bodies since the mid 1980's. I have a K100, Me Super, and two P30t bodies. And several great manual focus lenses that I intend to use with the new to me *ist ds. The main reason that I posted this question is that I watching a few auto focus Pentax 35mm film cameras on Ebay that are going cheap, but they come with some nice auto focus lenses. I have seen the same lenses alone going for three to four times the price of the camera and lens combo.

    Thanks again,

    Scott

  9. Hello everyone,

I purchased a Pentax *ist ds off of Ebay. I don't have the camera yet, but I was

wondering if Pentax auto focus lenses that were made for the auto focus 35mm

body's would auto focus on the *ist ds

    Thanks Scott

  10. Hi nice to find some else form Wichita on photo.net. I have the new bridges and the Keeper on my list to photograph this spring. My only input would be look, for some different angles to photograph from and maybe different times of day to take the photos.
