  1. Until now I always sent all my leicas and lenses to Leica NJ for any

work needed. This time after reading one of the posts here I decided

to send it elsewhere. In addition repair person is only few hours

away from where I live. When I called to confirm that shipment

arrived and for estimate I have received worst treatment ever. Now I

am having hard time to deal with it. Should I call and cancel the

work and send it to Leica NJ, I know that no work has been started so

far on my camera. Or just keep quiet, get the work done pay and never

come back to that person. I have no reason to question quality of

work, but have a hard time to deal with circumstances and the fact

that I will actually pay someone for their discourtesy.

    Care to share your thoughts?

  2. Let me try once more, first time measurement got formatted wrong.

Starting from the last A in Canada, going directly down there is what looks like light reflection of some sort just about 0.75 inches. That is what I think Rob points out. If you go another 0.75 inches down there is a grey/white streak almost like crescent moon looking, what is that?

  4. Please share any experience with Telyt 350/4. I am looking for longer

Leica lens and this is just about what I can afford. I already have

180/3.4 and looked at 250/4. Plan to use it on R9 and Canon 20D for

nature and landscape photos. Please post some pictures from 350 or

point me to the site where I get some idea about that lens. Dug Herr

has already covered 250/4, 280/2.8 and 280/4 in another thread so

280s are a side and out of my reach.

    Thanks in advance Henryk.

  5. Leon, If you can hold on to 10D or at least your L lenses. I did the same, sold my 10D, got MP and M7. Some fine 35, 50 and 90 mm Leica lenses and found that in some cases I need more accurate metering. I am amateur photographer and can not always accurately assess difficult high contrast, bright light and hard shadows exposures. M system meters are not that sophisticated. I went out and got R9 for that purpose and some fine R lenses.

I always had small A70 canon digital point and shoot. My wife uses that most of the time, when I used it I missed the instant gratification of digital results, or disappointment in my case. In any case I got 20D just for that purpose and find that I use M systems for indoor no flash photography and outside when compact camera is desired, R for outside slides and print photos, R for inside print with flash, and digital for all of the above. Use digital for about 25% of all my photos, rest is Leica. One thing I would like to do is to get an adapter and try R glass on 20D, perhaps one of these days ?

  6. Recently I purchased R4 SLR camera and I am looking for 50 mm

Summicron R for it. Yesterday I have been offered one of these

lenses, made in Canada with build-in hood. All points to second

version of Summicron, but serial # on it is 2777958. According to

kbcamera.com this is still first version.

Could someone help me verify correct version of these lens.

    Thank you in advance.

    Henryk.

  7. Well? if you think other cameras and glass beside leica can do that ? how about posting one of these pictures?

What would be interesting is to make larger print of that photo and then compare it with prints of the same size from other cameras.

Beside leica I use canon digital and film and for my money nothing comes close to quality and color rendition of leica.

    Henryk.
