1.
I just bought a new nikon D7000 a week ago. So far i do like it! I have been reading the manual and going out and taking pictures. I have read about the Picture Control Settings? What are the best setting to use on my camera? I heard the vivid setting is the best one to change and use. Thanks for all your help.

  2.
I just want to thank everyone of all there responses for the nikon D7000. I researched other reviews and found so many great things about this camera. I went out yesterday and bought this new camera. I do like it! I ended up buying it from Best Buy. I got a 10% off coupon in the mail and saved $150.00. I bought 2 8 gig (class 10) memory cards also. I am reading through the manual and making changes on the menu screen too.
How does the picture control work and what kind of settings should i use? I noticed some editing tools in the camera. Are they good to use? I'm not good at photoshop, but I know how to do a few basic editing tools. Any last minute advice on this camera? I know i need to go out and shoot, shoot with it and go throu all the setting too. Thanks again!

  3.
I have a nikon D70's which i've had for over 6 years now. I want to upgrade to a new camera. I have read a lot about the Nikon D7000. I got to hold and check the camera out last weekend. It felt good in my hands. What are your thoughts one this camera? I know others will compare this to the D300s. Which camera is better? I know there are pros & cons for each camera. If you own this camera, what is your review of the D7000? Right now i am having problems with my D70's right now with Err always comes on when i put a memory card in the camera. Could my cards be corructed? I take pictures of family, friends, landscape, & i help a friend with wedding photography too. Thanks for all your thoughts & ideas.

  4.
Hello! I would like some feedback on the nikon 70 - 300mm VR lens. I am thinking of buying this lens but i would like to hear feedback (pros vs. cons). I know overall this is a good lens to have. I cant afford the 70 - 200 VR, so I thought the 70 - 300 would be a better fit for me. I have the nikon D70s, eventually going to upgrade it sometime next year. Thanks for your comments.
5. Hello everyone, I was wondering if any of you have brought your DSLR cameras

with to a MLB game? I might be going to the SF Giants at the end of the month

and thinking of bringing my nikon D70s with me. On the sfgiants.com , it states

it is okay to bring cameras in the ball park. For those that have brought your

camera with you, was there any hassles getting into mlb ball parks with your

    camera? Thanks for any feedback.

  6. Hello! My brother in law bought the D40x kit lens. He asked me about getting a

    longer lens (like up to 300mm). He has the 18 - 55 & 55 - 200 lens. What kind

of lenses can he use that will auto focus? Will any sigma or tamron lenses

    work? Thanks for any help.

  7. Hello! I have a ? regarding the nikon 18 - 200 VR lens. I have read that this

lens is a great and very good reviews on it. I will eventually be buying a D300

camera, but i've seen kits lens for this camera. The 18 - 200 mm VR lens is

$2500.00 w/ the D300. Is it worth the extra money to get the lens w/ this

camera or should buy the camera and try to buy the lens on ebay / craiglists

when i have more money saved up?

    My current lenses are: 50mm f1.8, 18 - 70mm (D70s kit lens), Sigma 24 - 70 f2.8,

    Tamron macro 90mm f2.8, Tamron 28 - 300 mm.

    Thanks for any input.

  9. I just want to thank everyone for commenting on my question regarding to upgrade to the nikon D300. My D70s is working pretty good, but I know that a D300 would be an upgrade and im willing to learn a new camera. I am saving my money for this camera($1,100.00 saved so far, and i wont go in credit card debt). I think i'll have to sell my D70s to help pay towards the D300. Thanks again for all you tips and comments. I will let everyone one know when i do finally purchase the D300.
  10. I am asking all former D70s users that bought the D300 as an upgrade. Is this a

good upgrade to get? Right now i have the D70s camera, and eventually would

like to upgrade to the D300. What are your thoughts / comments on this camera?

So far i've read many good reviews on the D300. Also, did you sell you D70 or

use it as a backup? Whats the average price for a used D70? Thanks for any answers.

  11. You can try craigslist.com to try to sell your D80. Try to find someone you know who can sell on ebay for you and you might have to pay a commision to them. Good luck!

    Cory.

P.S. - when i do decide to buy a D300 .. i will have to sell my D70s and i will try craigslist and see what happens. Someone i work with does good on ebay and i can ask him too.

  12. Hello! I have my first official wedding this friday night. It is my wife's

cousin's wedding. They know that im not a professional and they are not picky

at all. Any last minute ideas, suggestions, posing, etc. By the way, i have

been assisting my friends weddings for a few years now. I do like it! My

friend, will be helping me out. My gear is Nikon D70s, 3 batteries, 3 (1) gig

compact flash cards, SB 800 flash. Lenses are: kits lens, tamron 28 - 300mm,

    nikon 50 mm f/1.8, sigma 24 - 70 f/2.0., and tamron 90 mm f/2.0. Which of these

would you suggest that i use for portraits and the ceremony?

The location is at a local church they belong too. I will be doing the bridal

party and family pictures outside before the ceremony. Ceremony will be inside

(7 pm) and i found out that i can use my flash. Thanks for any last minute

suggestions. I will let everyone know how the wedding went and how the

    photography turned out.

  13. I would charge atleast $400.00 for you 4 hours of photography. But then i would charge extra for your gas, time driving to South Carolina, food, hotel stay etc. I hope this helps.
  14. There is nothing wrong with bring your camera with you to your friends wedding. I am assistant wedding photograher, and a few weeks ago, their was a guest with the new Nikon D80. I talked to him about his camera and he just got it. My friend, who is the main photographer didnt mind him taking pictures, but he was never in the way. As a guest, i dont think there is nothing wrong taking your camera.
  15. I am a second shooter also. I help my friend with his wedding gigs. I do alot of the candids and guest shots. I do get B & G shots also. I get different side shots and others too. He will use some of my pictures for the final prints. I usually take 300- 600 pictures each wedding. I get paid also. Sometimes there are another shooter to help out too.
  16. I am a assistant shooter for a friends wedding business. I shoot a lot of candids before and after the cermony. I do help him grab his gear that he does bring (to and from his car). Sometimes he has 2 other assistants taking wedding pictures and they help out also. Take pictures, ajust wedding gown, poses, using light refletors, etc.
  17. I am going to buy the 50 mm 1.8 lens soon. I would be using this lens

with the nikon D70s. What are your thoughts on this lens? Also, i saw

that B & H has this lens for $94.95 (import) and (USA) for $104.95 for

the 50 mm. What are the pros and cons versus import or USA? I think

the USA brand would be better and i think that it would be worth

spending the extra $10.00 for it. Thanks for any suggestions on the

    nikon 50 mm.

  18. I am assistant photographer for a friend of mine who takes wedding pictures. He pays me $25.00 / hour and each wedding is usually 2- 4 hours long. I like getting the experience and learning at each wedding i help him at. This way i can build up a portfolio for myself too. I hope this helps.
