I like the repetition, but the right side blurred foreground element (the next row of musicians) does not help. Better as a portrait if we could see just a little bit more of his neck.

I didn't think that that was the case, but checking with the original I see that the 35 mm equivalent focal length is 110 mm!

Good texture and composition. I look down and feel like I'm looking down on a harshly lit parking lot from a high vantage point. The varied light on the wall also helps make this interesting.

    Thank you for the comments!

Actually, her face is anything but "flat" in real life, which is why I'd like to improve on capturing it! The photo was taken around 5 pm, but I agree that I need to figure out ways to create contrast to bring her out of the plane of the picture.

  1. On my first look it appeared that the bear was underwater, then I realize that it is just raining heavily. I think that the colors of the background contributes to that impression, and perhaps the light coming from above. Gotta love the cone! What a great spash of color to enhance the almost otherwise monotone picture.

This photo was shot on a day with some sun through the clouds. I

would appreciate comments as what I can do (without a lot of

equipment) to avoid what I see as "flatness" in the face.
