Great idea. Very soft and subtle tones. The black framing goes well with the pic. Great choice with the depth of field. I would have gone with a narrow DOF but I'm sure that it would not have worked as well as this. The writing in the dust is a great little addition to the photo, it really adds a bit of story to this Picture. -

Great photo, it nice to see hippos doing something. I have been to my local zoo several times and all the hippos are doing is lying around. Nice composition and framing of the 2 hippos, very sharp nice exposure. -

great natural lighting, great looking sky adding that bike in the forground seems to add a bit of a story to the picture. Is it your bike or was it there? -
I agree the mom looks out of place, I think that this would have looked better if all of the family had been casual instead of the stiff look of the men. Maybe had the father and older son standing casual and the mom and the younger boy sitting on the sand in front of them. I would have mixed this up with more color in the clothes. -

nice sence of depth my eye naturally followed the rail all the way through the photo.

nice contrast, Sharp looking picture, great angle on the front of the car, lots of shapes and lines to catch the eye. I think if this had been taken front on it would not have the same feel as this photo does taken from this angle.
