Pompous? Oh no. (See my "god's macro", in case you haven't.. :) Btw., I once experienced and photographed quite similar a situation, and named it also "At the edge of the world" - that may be one of the reasons why I like this. (Don't remember where that photo is now, maybe didn't come out well enough, it had been so dark)
