Lynn, Rodinal 1:100 does not work for my Tech Pan. The
contrast is still to high.

How about a vaibration which is out of phase?

Aaron don't listen to Jeff. Go to a skilfull carpenter and ask him
to put a laminate of natural walnut , or better, a magnificent
cocobola, on your camera. Your spirit will improve, and so the
pictures!

Try RTF540 by Contax/Yashica if you can get a used one on ebay. The guide no. is 40 m, the 510V battery 50$ at B&H, but there are also 2 other power supply possibilities.

All I can say is that I am shaking my head.

Dont't bother!

I suggest that the title of your print should be: Twin Towers in the Yavorova Valley. Looks like the entire forest surrounding this area was destroyed by a storm, only the two trees, symbols of good forces, survived. Any idea how did it happened? The picture is superb!
The cropped version is interesting, but the panorama more so.

No, no fixing is needed after reducing in Farmers solution. I read somewhere on internet that resin coated papers are not as good for reducing as the fiber papers are, but the author did not elaborate on this.
Regarding the experimenting with your old Ilfospeed Ole, perhaps Lex will do it. He likes old, mature, stuff, like good red wine.

Photographs of living artists for 250.000, 650.000$ ?
Today I visited Sotheby's and saw Lichtensteins lithographs between 40.000 and 60.000 a piece and a pastel by Degas estimated at 8.000.000-12.000.000$.
I N S A N E!

"throught most of its coverage it has extremely low distortion"
What kind of distortion?
barrel distortion?, astigmatism?, coma?
-
Nothing, unless you post your images on internet.

Your artificial picture is amazing. I have been playing with a Strata Studio Pro on my Mac a while ago, but not being an artist who can paint or draw anything without a ruler and a compass, I gave up. I am just taking photographs the traditional way.

Common guys. I do not understand all your supernatural explanations: pinholes, testing the bellows, lens separations?
Ghosts are ghosts. Sometimes they are around, then one can capture their presence on film, like Rafil just did, or they are gone. No ghost in the vicinity, no image.

Do as Kevin says.

What is the relationship between this image and your question?
I suggest that you first develop a sheet of IR film WITHOUT exposure. Then you will know whether to trash it or use it. My predictions are to trash it.

Has anybody calculated the cost of energy used for maintaining the storage below freezing T for 30 years, and present, value-added of the old film?
-
Nelson, unless you want to render on film continuity of motion, like flowing water, moving crowd, street traffic etc., the very long exposures make no sense, (they have to be long anyway) or rather the DETAILS in night scenes make no sense. At night there are no details. Only light and darkness. Using Tech Pan in such situations most certainly means disaster for you.

If you want to remove the plate from the shaft, then you need a long hexagonal wrench to reach through the tube to unscrew the nut inside.

1) What are higher T? few degrees above common 20 C is not a problem, otherwise it would be pointed out by the manufacturer.
2) Is Gordon Hutchings a chemist experienced in chemical kinetics? If not, than such a claim may better fit in gourmet cooking.
3) It is not a theory, it is a MYTH.
-
All are true myths. What magnifications are your final prints? If 30 times, than these arguments can make sense. If 10 x they do not.

The name rapid found on common fixers available in stores is just commercial gimmick. It has nothing to do with truly rapid fixers used in the past by press photographers. An example of rapid fixer is: Na-thiosulfate, ammonium chloride and K-disulfite (K2S2O5), and this does not go to less than 5 minutes fixing time.
Na-thiosulfate only is entirely sufficient as fixing agent. K-sulfite (K2S2O5), or Na-hydrogen sulfite (NaHSO3) are added as a conservation agents - they interupt developing process, dissolve antihalation layers and preserve fixing bath. Ammonium chloride accelerates the reaction. These multicomponent fixers are termed acidic fixers in Europe. Do not worry about prints permanence, once the prints are thouroghly fixed (with thiosulfate only) and washed.

Or you will have to use a lens cap as a shutter. Works well for times beetween 1-2 seconds and longer. have fun.

I seriously do not understand what is wrong with some of you people. - Nothing!
I don't understand the animosity - there is no animosity.
-- Jay has stated simple opinion about public relations. That fact is not acceptable to the rest of participants and/or followers of the cult. Peace be with you. I do not see that the vendetta continues, Michael.
I have expressed personal, more caustic opinion which I reaffirm here. Sorry guys. It applies to all who produce such claims, not personally to anyone, so there is no personal vendetta here either.
I know, Michael, that you are only quoting the others. Maybe you should not. You dont need it. Anybody could post similar testimonials. For what good?
