Thanks very much for your critique and thoughts about whether to include the birds or not. I really appreciate it. The birds were in fact there just as you see them on the photo, but captured a few seconds after ending the long exposure and afterwards blended in in PhotoShop. I think my idea was to add life to the in some ways "lifeless" long exposure. Also a kind of juxtaposition. However, I perfectly see your point concerning distraction and weakening of minimalism and I will indeed look again on a version without the birds.

Very fine and calming photo. The colour reflected from the water is excellent. Were the boats really that blue, or is it a product of tweaking the colour balance in the post-processing? Anyway, the contrasting colours add interest. Regards, Michael
