Hi Norbert, hi Benjamin! Thanks for stopping and commenting.

Norbert: I've been uploading and submitting photos on P.N. since 2003.

I guess I've uploaded more than 500 pics.

I know, more or less, what I'm going after when I submit a photo for critiques and for ratings.

I know that P.N. has all kind photographers between its subscribers, with their skills, culture, sensitivity, intelligence and that I will randomly meet them when I ask for critiques and opinions.

Everybody is entitled to write what she/he thinks when asked in the critique forum. Obviously. That's true for you, but also for me. I hope.

Coming to your critiques to my pic they don't make too much sense to me. But I admit its a very personal point of view. No harm anyway.

Speaking about your suggestions I don't even consider to start a culture discussion on portraiture photography on these basis. It isn't even the place.

    That's it.

Dear P.N. friends, thanks for stopping and commenting!

This portrait, as most of the other of this folder, belong to a series of shots made "after" a master's masterpiece. This one in particular is made after Erwin Blumenfedl's self portrait.

Once I will be able to shoot portraits reasonably alike Masters, I will start to crave my own style!

    Thanks Pierre!

as the portraits I've uploaded in these days this portrait has been made "after" an historical piece of photography. I really wonder how many photo, net subscribers realized it! If I would have submit it to ratings I guess it would have gained no more then a 2! Anyway it was made after Alvin Langdon Coburn's Morius de Zaya's portrait (1911)! Thanks again for sopping and commenting!

Hi Len, thanks for stopping and commenting!

I know Y.K.'s Hamingway portrait, and mine was made "after" his. As the other photos I've uploaded in the last days are "after" rather well known portraits. Fantastic to know somebody who worked for Y.K. One of my best!

    Dear Mark,

thanks for stopping and commenting Rocco latest! He's fine! Few health little problems (14,5 y.old, diabetes, blindness), but still in excellent shape and mood!

Very nice shot!!! When I first sow it  I thought I would have tried to even the hand's contrast-texture with the rest of the body. But now I'm not sure...

Probably the photo has lost detail in PP, but it has gained a rather dreamy look!!!

I love Westies photographed from behind!

Thanks for sopping and commenting Rocco's pics!!!

At a larger res. is better.

BTW Tommy is a sheep dog who worked in the field until he was four years old. One day he was so hungry that, with his collogues, killed and eat a goat. Now his half an hour arrived and he lives in a very correctable way!
