My honest opinion is that this would have been much better if you would have shot it when the light was a lot less contrasty. MOreover, I think the model could have been posed much better.

actually, what I like most is the beautiful natural light that wraps around this models face. very very nice and natural. The only other comment that I would make is that if you are going to go to all of the trouble to go out and make nice portraits like this one is, take a little time to work on the little details. She has a lot of frizzy hair that could have been taken care of with a bit of spray from your phtographers kit.

I would crop out the road completely.

too bad you didn't have a ladder. the foreground is distracting and perhaps if you would have been a bit higher up you could have cropped that out. otherwise very nice.

Darn, I was just going to say "great apartment"!

nice, but somehow to me any good photo of Yosemite should be in black and white.

I think everybody is so damned concerned about all of the technical stuff and not enough about the image itself. I remember with fondness my trip to the Orkneys and this is a wonderful photograph in that it depicts the mystery of those Islands regardless of whether it has grain or where you stood or any of that other BS. Great Shot!!!

A sense of intrigue!!!! Nice

I am afraid I have to disagree with the other folks. to me, the way the neck is bent makes it look as though the hat is too heavy for the head. In my opinion this would have been a much better photograh if the person's face would have been revealed.

Excellent

from a technical perspective, it is considered very undesireable to shoot up people's nostrils in portraiture.

do they still have that restaurant on the wharf there in Downtown Santa Barbara. If so, try their clam chowder as it is (was) fantastic!!!!
I think I shot this same shot from the top of the hill overlooking the harbor. Not as nice of a sky as yours.

I don't see this as "fine art". it is a record shot, and quite frankly doesn't seem to draw much interest to the viewer.

it would be much better if we could see the face of the person sitting there!

I think you waited just a bit too much, which caused some contrast problems that are bothersome.
moreover, I don't necessarily think that the foreground rock adds that much to the photograph.

the lighting is too flat. Her age is about 15!

Use a view camera for this type of shot so your trees don't lean.

I find the discoloration in the feet distracting, as well as the poorly painted box.
The pose and the lighting are interesting, especially the way you have her hair flowing.
