The word ebay?

KEH has a couple of Sigma 105's posted right now priced under $400. I had this lens and found it to be excellent, only sold it to move up to the 150mm macro.

Have the 70-300 and tried the Sigma. Image quality was pretty good but the weight of the lens killed it for me, almost 2-1/2 times the weight of the Nikkor. Image quality was pretty good, about the same as the Nikkor. OS worked well. One nice feature is is one they don't advertise, that being the shape of the mounting foot is the dovetail like the Arca Swiss mounts and an adapter isn't needed for that kind of tripod head.

Just for the record Joe, I've found NX2 handles my D800 files flawlessly. It is slower than when handling D300 or D7000 files but that should be expected since the files are well over twice as large. I've found that NX2 renders them really good, great color, not drab and fuzzy, and much improved dynamic range over anything I've done previously.

Works great for me also, really, really great with a 64bit system.

I used to have the same problem on occasion Bernie, here's what I found to be the problem. You said you cleared the printing queue but I wonder if you cleared the temp folder where the 2200 places the temporary printing files. In windows 7 that temp file is at c:/ users/ - 'your name'/ - appdata/ - local/ - temp. It does not use the windows/temp folder (at least it didn't for me). If you've never cleared it you'll be surprised how much crap is retained in that folder.

And I bet he chewed your butt out after you took the pic. Many photographers call it the 'Devil Bird' because they're tough to photograph.

It works fine for me with the same OS but I can't recall anything about the installation. (Done a year or two ago).

Tough to say without knowing what the current settings are. If you'd like the manual to refer to it can be downloaded here - http://support.nikonusa.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/17008

When you say 1 to 1 do you mean fill the screen with the entire image or show the image 1 photo pixel on 1 screen pixel? Two very different views.

Any significant advantage of the 600/4 VR vs 600/4 AF-S on a tripod
