Thanks for your help guys! Photo.net never ceases to amaze me
with the people it allows me to access. Anyways, I guess this
clears up that I'll go for the 545 because it's a bit cheaper (on
ebay...) and I am no longer concerned that it lacks any features.

I'm looking to buy my first 4x5 polaroid back, and can't quite see
what the difference is in between a 545 and a 545i. Can anyone
help me?
Thanks!

Hi!
I am a student in Design at Stanford, and an avid photographer. I
will be making a presentation in a few days about the way
people wash and dry film when processing at home or on the
road.
If you could email me pictures of any devices you might have
constructed to wash and/or dry film, along with a brief
description, I would be most grateful.
Please send files to fbrahic@stanford.edu . They don't need to
be high resolution or high quality.
Thanks for any help you may provide!

THanks for your help guys. Bayonet II is what I was thinking, but I
was a bit confused because 2.8 lenses seem to take a different
bayonet in general.
Does anyone know why the lens-hood is different for the 2.8A
than standard Bayonet II?
As far as the quality of this Tessar, it is actually outstanding. I
have owned 4 Rolleis (2 xenotars and 2 Tessars) and this is
definitely my favorite. I know xenotars are supposed to be better,
especially wide open, but this Tessar is just incredibly sharp and
I prefer the single coated lens to the multi coated lens.
Perhaps you are thinking of the earlier 2.8A which had a
manufacturing mix-up in the lenses, and is not supposed to be
incredibly sharp. This one was either retrofitted or a later model.
Thanks for your help!

I have a Rolleiflex 2.8A with a Zeiss Opton tessar 2.8. (serial
number 1144704.
I'd like to buy some filters for it, but I can't figure out whether I
need to look for Bayonet I, II, or III.
Any help?
Also, if you know the dimensions for bayonet I, II and III, could
you please specify what exactly they are? (For instance, "the
outer ring diameter is 40mm").
Thanks for your help!

I have been processing b&w 35mm and 120 film in a lab for a few
years. I am now interested in saving time by processing at home.
However, I am not quite sure how to go about washing and drying
without buying a washer and drying cabinet.
How do you guys do it? Any problems you've run into? Solutions, tips
ideas?
Thanks!

Photo supplies in Japan
in Travel
Posted
Hi!
I will be moving to Japan for a year starting in a few weeks. I will
be photographing considerably while I am there, and would like to be
able to purchase supplies along the way, rather than bring everything
with me. In particular I will be needing:
-Film (120 and 4x5, in B&W and Polaroid)
-Developper (Rodinal)
Does anyone know of a mail order place in Japan that would be able to
provide me with such supplies? Or perhaps a US company that ships
abroad for less than exhorbitant rates (Freestyle charges $80+ for
5lbs to Japan!).
Thanks!
