1.
Hi, I just got my very first Pentax (6x7) from eBay. Real beautiful piece of work... I play with it every evening after work. However, I just don't know how I can fire the shutter without loading a film. Someone showed me a trick by turning the counter from 0 to 1 for "cheating" the camera. It works, for him. But I could not do it again sometime later. Anyone here tell me how to do it again? Thanks in advance.

  2.
Folks, thanks for the responses. I am enlightened and relieved. I did not get into digital seriously until I get the X100... I have been insisting on film for two decades until finally see something comparable: X100. Though I will not give up the film way but am sure there will be additional fun with new machine like X100 or X-1 Pro. Once again, thanks for the sharing. have a nice weekend.

  3.
Guys, I just got my Fuji X100 after six months of research and consideration. No regret so far, rather impressed indeed. Yet, I have a situation to consult you guys. I shoot raw in B&W but then I see only coloured images when I open the files in Silky Raw Converter (as you know, comes in together with X100). This also the case when I preview on Macbook (OSX Lion). I have to change it to B&W by Silky and develop into Jpeg. But if I shoot Jpeg at the first instance, I see B&W all the way (even at Preview on my MacBook Pro) Is this normal? Forgive me if my question is too basic to raise... Thanks for your advice.

  4.
Bill and R.T., thanks for the feedback. I finally give up and use only the preview at my Macbook Pro plus the Silky Raw Converter. But still thanks for you guys advices. Yet, I have another question posted in a different thread. Please check a advise, again. Have a nice weekend.

  6.
Dear all, as you may be aware FinePix Viewer does not work on Mac OSX (Lion). Some say I did not lose much... Yet, I still need a software to view the RAF raw files produced by my X100. Any suggestion? Which one is good and small in size? And, where to download? Many thx in advance.

  7.
Guys, thanks for all the input.
The challenge here is not being the availability of anything, Hong Kong is simply over-supply in everything... My challenge is one of space in nature. Space not being the storage of a black bag, tank or chemical but the autonomy at home... I have two kids one at 2.5 years and one at 0.5 and one wife.
No excuse, I know. But I still need some courage to pick the tank again. Meanwhile, I would rather let the lab tech to do it for me. Here I can find a guy to process and scan a roll at only US$7. See, that's why I am lazy...
Again, thanks for all the input and please let me know any further info. Merry X'mas!

  8.
Folks,
I am new here because I live in a city where B/W developing and printing is not possible in most of our homes (Hong Kong). I recently bought a roll of 5222 to try and then wondering how should I handle the processing...
Tried out searching but info seems to be bit and pieces. Appreciate if you guys may feed me with whatever you deem essential. Photos and your gear would also be inspiring. Thanks.

  9.
Folks, I am Chinese born/raised in Hong Kong. One more translation here:
Look at the 2nd picture which shows the top plate. The little Chinese character next to the crane near the film counter is 倒 which means reverse "R". Obviously, used for film rewinding. Whether it is a copy cat of Russian or Deutch counterpart, it was an effort of the Chinese Communist in those days to demonstrate their ability in light industry.

  10.
Folks, sorry that I have been away from photo.net for a while. Have been busy hunting on Domke F 803 (olive). I did not expect my stupid request arose such a dialogue here. My apology. I was only lazy/sloppy in internet searching... Indeed, I want the manual for the camera only cux I have no ZM lens at all. The Zeiss Ikon Zm camera is a supplement to my M3. If you so happen having a PDF copy, please send to the email address I registered at photo.net
Thanks again.

  11.
Folks, I have been searching high and low at Goooogle but to no avail. Just need a PDF copy. Would you guys help?
In particular, I am looking at the small tricks of using flashlight. I was told by setting AEL with a flash on, I may adjust the light power from -2 to +2. Is that true? And how?
Thanks in advance.

  12.
Dear Bob, I could find the comparison between M8/M9 and x100 at Dxomark.com. Would you please show me the exact link? Or if somebody is kind enough to show photos by the above two/three for comparison. I don't have anyone of them... Thanks and regards.

  13.
Guys, I just got my first Hassy 500c/m. Before that, I was using Rollie 3.5F with a Beattie screen which are both outstanding. But my the focusing screen on the Hassy is no match at all... I have done some research on this forum but the result has not much bearing... I am thinking of going either Beattie or Maxwell. Does anyone have their contact (email, tel or website)? Seems that Maxwell is out of the business, correct me if I am wrong. Also, I am open to choice other that the said two but I prefer split screen. Any thoughts?

  14. Dear all, I am a rookie to Bronica community and perhaps medium format shooting

(though I tried a few rolls on Rollieflex 3.5F). I am about to get my very

first Bronica (SQ-A) with 80mm PS, eye-level AE prism and a 120 mag. Is this a

good choice to start with? Also, what should I be watching out during the honey

moon? I need some clues...my apology for not doing enough research myself...all

I know is its tough quality built and difficulty in changing lens. Please

    advise.
