> If you are making a gift, leaving it unsigned makes more sense than if you
are selling prints
why

makes the decision unsigned for you.
does the matte refer to the actual part of the print on the front. and why does "it
make the decision unsigned for you"?
is it me, or has my brain gone to sleep. maybe its the red wine taking effect..

If you are proud of it, sign it. Some day some one will look behind the print
and know that "John Boyle" took captured this wonderful image.

I'm not linked to the seller. Imagine lugging all that kit around ;-)

shoot'in directly into the fireball is just asking for trouble

Eric, nice blur job. you use a feathered lasso and motion blur in PS?
Lutz, very painterly photo, did you shoot with the 35/1.4 pre-ASPH. any
manipulation?
Denis, I don't like cats much, but that cat looks kool. looks like he/she has

DOH, I meant morning. This is what happens when you stay up too early and
muck up your body functions
-
Sung, thanks for the explaination. Makes more sense now.
John, thanks for the link to the prank. GREAT entertainment value, I was up till
4.30am in the norning reading it! LOL

Black paint lenses are nice to match a black paint MP, but those 90SAA
lenses are heavy enough already, let alone a BP one and that bitch would be
way heavier which is why I have never considered one. And theres usually a
few on Ekkkbay. it is just too heavy to lug around.

Don't tempt me Trevor ;-)
Thank you for all your responses.

Thank you for all your responses.

yeh, sounded too good to be true. but i will say, how many sellers would be
prepared to send a camera first without any money received or even a
deposit? THEY may end up being the one getting scammed. Ssschwwing!
But good you did your homework.

good question. who's done a side by side test?

Some pretty high and mighted posts. These are just out of line. Linda may
have better use for the money raised for things of more important and value to
her.
She just asked for advice. Not conscience assasinations.
I better not let the forum know when I decide to sell the black paint outfits left
for me.

Zip, Zero, Nada.
Perhaps the only thing is you gain the use of accurate framing with the 35.
If you are wanting a wider focal length than 28mm is sensible, unless you
want wider.
You may find the 35/2.0 4th better handling than the 40 cron. but nothing is as
compact as a 40, except for the 15 hologon LOL.
-
That auction is not for an SP. It is for the much more common S3. And the 5cm
1.4 isn't as rare as the 35cm 1.8 in all black.

90/2.8 Tele-elmarit 'Fat' 1964-1974, 5 elements S/N approx 2,000,000 to
approx 2,730,000. Is within the same vintage era as your M2, or thereabouts.
- Classic look
- fast 90 f2.8 speed
- more compact than the 1st ver elmarit
- lighter (355g) than the newer elmarits
- better built than the 2nd ver Tele-elmarit 'Thin'
Some have said this lens is soft at 2.8, but I have not experienced this with my
lens.
End-of-storey.
Black Paint M2
in Leica and Rangefinders
Posted
I notice that on all the original black paint M2's I have seen the lugs are always
completely brass, and black painted. But the lugs on this camera show chrome at the base
and it looks like the chrome has been sanded off, leaving course marks where as the ones
I have seen are very smoothly worn from natural use. Usually these brass lugs are the first
to be worn through and often get replaced by chrome ones. If this were the case, why sand
the ends down to the brass?
