1.
Once, my FA 50mm f1.4 rolled out of my camera bag and into about an inch of Lake Superior during a camping trip. I put the lens on the dashboard of my car, which was baking in a nice sunny parking lot. A couple of days later I couldn't detect any moisture inside. That was seven years ago, and I've had no problems with fungus (or anything else). FWIW.

  2. Bear in mind that the capacitors inside of flash units store up very large electric charges. These charges persist for a time even after batteries are removed. If you decide to open the unit, you run at least some risk of getting zapped if you don't know your way around. (Yes, this is personal experience speaking.)
  3. Hello. My new K100D Super has developed a weird yellow horizontal banding

problem at ISO 800, 1600, and 3200. Please not that this is NOT the dark

vertical banding others have written about. Instead, it is a set of two and

sometimes more yellowish horizontal bands that are always in the same place in

    the frame.

A review of my first photos with this camera from a couple of weeks ago

indicates that this problem did not exist when the camera was new. It seems to

have cropped up just in the last two days.

I've emailed Pentax, but in the meantime, any thoughts about what's going on?

Bad sensor maybe? I only shoot in RAW, for whatever that may be worth.

I've attached a sample photo. You can see the bands clearly against the dark

background of the seated man's shirt.

Thanks in advance for your input.
00NPfH-39962584.jpg.9b39cc2b71bc9e30ece7527b0f57de0f.jpg

  4. File under beginner: I just got a Yashicamat EM and I am having

trouble understanding how to reset the film counter to the beginning

("S"). Actually, I can do this manually---i.e., I can open the back,

take out the old roll of film, and then laboriously turn the chrome

serated wheel to dial the exposure counter back through 12, 11,

    10, . . . 2, 1, . . . S. But I can't believe that this is the way

Yashica intended me to accomplish this. FWIW, when I crank forward

at the end of the roll, it goes to the end-of-roll indicator and just

stays there. Is there something else I'm supposed to do to reset the

counter? Your assistance will be greatly appreciated.
