Thanks for all the advice. I appreciate it.

Thanks guys.

Sorry, if you click on my name, you will see the picture of the lens. It is the only picture uploaded in my profile.
Thanks,
Donny.

Sorry, I am having difficulty adding the picture to the post...I will work on it.

I've been doing a lot of research on which tele lens to buy and I
have found this lens for sale but do not know which it is. I
emailed the store and have received no info back. Is this lens the,
5.6 400mm apo macro?
5.6 400mm apo?
5.6 400mm lens?
Thanks,
Donny.

Thanks for all the input. I really appreciate it.

Is there anything someone can recommend besides buying the lens spanner tool?
Thanks,
Donny.

Hi, I previously posted that I had a small speck on the inside of my
front element and that I would like to try and remove it myself. I
unscrewed the circular ring around the lens but I do not know what to
do after that. It looks like I need some type of special tool next.
There are two square holes, the size of a pinhead on opposite ends of
each other.
Thanks,
Donny.

Hi, I've noticed a tiny (pinhead sized) spot that has developed on
the inside of the front glass on my M645 55mm lens. Any advice on
self cleaning? I fear if I send it somewhere to be repaired, I may
be charged more for the repair than the lens actually cost me, but I
may be wrong. It doesn't affect picture quality, but I would like to
have it taken care of primarliy for resale value later. I have also
posted this under "Equipment"; I apologize if you read it twice.
Thanks,
Donny.

I know the peak is supposed to be mid march-april almost every year,
but I will be in the area at the end of February and would like to
know if anyone knows if there are any poppy patches to photograph
there at this time.
Thanks,
Donny.

I have an opportunity to buy a 300mm or 400mm lens. I am a poor,
but eager photographer so my budget is somewhat limited. My choices
are:
400mm F5.6 Sigma APO Tele (72)......$290
400mm F5.6 Tokina ATX SD (72).......$330
300mm F4 Tokina ATX SD (77).........$310
300mm F4 Sigma APO Macro D (77).....$345
or if I eat nothing but bread and water the next few weeks,
300mm F4 Nikon ED Internal Focus....$475
I have a Nikon N80 and would be using this lens primarily for surf
and wildlife photography. I have a lot of good surf photos, but I
always wondered how much sharper they would be with a telephoto
prime instead of a my current telephoto zoom. If I bought one of
the aftermarket lenses, I would also have enough money to buy a
monopod. I appreciate any input. I've looked at some of the old
threads on this and they were 3-4 years old, so if any information
is repeated, I apologize.
Thank you,
Donny.

Thanks for all the info. I think I will be trying Death Valley. Does anyone know if the dirt road to Eureka Dunes is passable with a non 4x4 car?
Thanks,
Donny.
I noticed on a map that there are 2 ways to get to Eureka Dunes? Is one route easier than the other?

Any thoughts?? I will be traveling for 5 or 6 days at the end of
December/start of January. I've been thinking about Death Valley or
Utah. Is Yosemite or King's Canyon snowed over that time of year?
I'm worried about road conditions since my vehicle isn't the best.
Thanks,
any opinions greatly appreciated.

Sorry if this posted twice but it didn't show up under my profile. I
am looking to buy an N75 for a friend. The only negative for my
friend is that they shoot 50 speed velvia about 99% of the time. The
N75 does not include a manual iso setting feature. It automatically
sets to 100 if it can't read the cartridge, I believe. Can I just
set the exposure compensation to +1?? Will this be the same as
having a camera where you can set the ISO to 50?
Thanks,
Donny.

Hello, currently I own a Mamiya M645 system and I have a Mamiya 55mm
lens. I love this lens, but I am looking to maybe purchase a wider
lens and a semi telephoto lens to round out my gear. Are there any
opinions about the other lenses, as far as optical quality? I am
currently looking at the 45mm, 150mm and the 210mm.
Thanks,
Donny.
p.s. one more thing, at close focus and at f22, I am unable to have
infinity in focus with my 55mm? Is this the same case with the 45mm?
Thanks again. Everyone's past responses have helped me purchase a
great camera system that I love.

Hello, I would like some advice as far as scanning MF for websites.
My main use for scanning MF transparencies would be to place on my
website. I would like the images to be sharp, but I would not need
large files to be printed. Am I okay in buying a $150 flatbed and
scanning good quality prints made from my MF transparencies or do I
need to think about the flatbeds with a MF transparency adapter? I
do not want to spend $250-400 for something that I may not need for
my uses.
Thanks for your help,
Donny.
Any recommendations as far as specific scanners for my purposes?

Hello, I am heading out to Utah this weekend for about a week and
unfortunately, the weather forecast for Southern Utah includes
thunderstorms, clouds, and rain for most of the week. I've been
looking forward to this trip for quite some time. Any advice in
making my trip better photographically? I was planning on shooting
just velvia, but if the weather holds, I don't want to be shooting a
colorless Utah. Would a warming filter help? How is black and
white in weather like this?
On the upside, I'm sure there will be some pretty dramtaic clouds to
take pictures of in the background.
Thanks,
Donny.

Thanks for all of your responses and help with my past questions. I
am new to MF and definitely appreciate all of the help. I loaded my
first roll of 120 Velvia into my Mamiya m645 film insert. However, I
did not advance it to the "arrows" or the starting point before
inserting the film into the camera and cranking to the 1st shot and
taking it. Only after this, I realized my error. I read in a M645
1000 manual, that if you do not advance it to the arrow, the framing
of your pictures will be incorrect? Is my film going to be messed
up?
Thanks,
Donny.

I have read that the AE prism is powered by the camera body battery
but I have noticed that there is a battery compartment on the AE
prism itself. ???
This may be a simple/dumb question. Thanks for any help.

Is there any point in putting a closeup lens, even a good one from
B+W, in front of a good Mamiya lens for quick and cheap macro work?
Has anyone tried this? Gotten any good results?
Thanks.

Hello, I recently discovered this site while researching TLR
cameras. I've learned a lot from all of the very informative posts.
I am ready to buy a TLR and have a few questions.
I am most concerned with receiving the sharpest images possible and
have these TLR's as my choices to buy.
Rollei Magic I w/ 75mm 3.5 Xenar $150
Rolleiflex Automat 75mm 3.5 Tessar $190
Yashica D w/Yashinon lens $110
Rolleiflex 3.5 MX-EVS Xenar lens $200
I would be grateful for any comments. Sorry if any part of this
topic has been already discussed.
Thanks,
Donny.
One more thing, am I just kidding myself in thinking that some these
TLR lenses can match the quality of some Med. Format SLR lenses?
Effect of pk-11; pk-12; pk-13 on 24mm AF 2.8 lens?

Hello, I already own a 60mm micro lens so I wouldn't really need my
24mm to serve as my primary macro lens. What I am looking for is
the ability to focus a little closer, yet keep somewhat of a wide
perspective/background on my image. I saw an incredible poppy image
a few months ago that highlighted a poppy (probably 1:4 or 1:3) in
the foreground and yet was still able to show a vast background of
poppies and sky behind it. Would adding one of these extension
tubes help me with this type of image? I'm sorry, don't know too
much about tubes. I emailed Nikon and they told me that these 3
tubes would work with my 24mm lens.
Thank you for your time,
Donny.
