1. As for the 200s, the new one says SMC Pentax and the old one says Takumar. Also, the old one has a fluted, metal focusing ring and the new one has a focusing ring made of textured rubber.

The 165 is pretty much equivalent to an 80-85 mm lens on a 35mm camera. The thing is it has a leaf shutter, so you can use flash with much higher shutter speeds. The standard flash sync speed of a 6x7 without a leaf shutter lens is 1/30, so useless for fill flash.

  2. The second generation 200 is a great portrait lens, assuming you don't need to use fill flash, in which case find the 165mm 4.0 with the leaf shutter. Keep away from the first generation 200, though. It's closest focusing distance is just shy of a nautical mile -- useless for head shots.
  3.
Has anyone used Rodinal with a Jobo expert drum to develop TMX or Tri-x 320 4x5 film?
Were the results any good or does Rodinal not really work all that well with rotary processing?
Finally, if someone's had good results, what are good starting times?
Thanks.
