Thanks for the update Brian.

The Carribean is part of the US now? How did we spare the troops from our other engagements?

Peter,
I have to apologize for Clinton. His mother never taught him any manners and he likes to frequently display it on this forum. Whatever you do, though, DON'T ask him to make predictions on future cameras! ;)
-
Maybe we should call them every day and let them know we're going to be photographing.
-
Stick with your original plan, get off your computer and go shoot lots of pictures. It's a nice camera. The digital revolution will only get cheaper. ;)

This does not create "greater security." It's just suppression. Suicide bombers don't need to carry cameras and photographing a target location beforehand can be done surreptitiously. It's just a distraction from the need to change US/UK foreign policy.

It works for me on Firefox 1.0.5 on WinXP.
I like the contrasty, grainy look. (I'm not sure why I can tell it's grainy at that small a resolution, but it seems that way.) On some the frame might be too crowded, like you cropped too much, but I think it works for most of them, or maybe you were looking for that. Gotta dig tri-x. Maybe I'll try diafine sometime.

Very nice. I like the girl with the pigeon especially. Did you design the site yourself?

I doubt the sensor size is actually different, that's probably a rounding error. They have the same specs.

Since no one else has replied to you, I'll just give the standard:
The camera's not worth as much as a repair would cost; go buy another used one that works. Or, take it apart and see if you see anything wrong. Maybe a wire shorting out from the flash?
Better yet, buy a 5D. ;0)

You'd need the 64 bit driver to run the 5400 on 64 bit Windows XP. Anyone ask Konica-Minolta yet?
-
At 1.4 with the 50mm on my 7, it probably takes me one second to a few seconds. As far as accuracy, it depends a lot more on how carefully I'm shooting and very little on the equipment. More so in low light situations where I'm forced to shoot wide open.

You might want to do a search if you haven't already. Zoom questions are very common. I did one and saw it mentioned here:

If you have AF on Continuous, the camera will cycle thru the different focus points for you. Then you can pick the focus point (or sensor) that you want. It's pretty fast.
If your subject isn't exactly center, you can also manually pick the sensor as you compose a shot with the controls on the back.
-
Not to insult your intelligence, but is the autofocus turned off by any chance?

The Maxxum 7 posts do not really apply to the 70. They're good cameras, though, much lighter.

I like them. Interesting subject matter - makes me want to go to China. The best critique I can give you is cut down the numbers. Pull out a small selection, or maybe just individual photos, and ask for a critique. I've never heard of any exhibit with 517 photos. ;)

I like his photos. The ones on the stairs look like a watery monster.

Aren't we already randomly harassed, and can't we continue to claim the harassment is unjustified due to the lack of a (arbitrary) ban?
-
I like it.

I impressed with his dedication. I don't know what my parents would say if I told them I was moving in with them so I could pursue my art and avoid a full time job for 40 years.

Wow, so many experts and yet still almost no information to answer the man's question...
-
I'm with Michael, although I wish my 7 was as light and small as my 70.

OK, thanks, I'll try to clean the blades. I didn't realize that was the same problem.
