  1. Hi all. The last two days I'm trying to install software

JustWriteOffice which I downloaded from Wacom Europe for 30 euros

and I'm getting the message: Setup experienced an error...Try again

later. I sent a mail to Wacom but till now I didn't receive an

answer. I was using a Graphire 3 A6 for two years but since two

weeks I upgraded to an Intuos 3 A4. Very pleased but this problem ...

    Can anyone help ?

    Thanks.

  2. Hello Peter. Two months before I made some tests on FP4+ and Classic Pan 200 with Pyro PMK developer. Because I don't have a color densitometer (this type of development needs metering in blue chanel) I made my meterings in a Kodak Q-Lab which belongs to a friend and I noted the results on the sheets(4X5").Two weeks before I purchased an Epson 4990 scanner and a Vuescan software. Amongst the other features that Vuescan offers it has and density metering. I decided to test it with the plates i had metered in the Q-Lab. To my surprise it was very very accurate. At eight meterings it had a declination of one or two centimeters at only two samples. I believe that I can trust it exept if it is for strictly scientific purposes.

P.S. In color mode the turn is : Red-Green-Blue.

  3. Hello Jeremy. I'm not sure if this helps but it is something useful.Try this: www.geocities.com/cokinfiltersystem/exposure_.htm

However with polarizer and color transparensy I add 2 stops.I have all the filters you are referring and the compensation is right for color neg or posit film but with B&W things are a little perplexed.

Lean on the large exposure tolerance of the film and use the same numbers. Experiment, write down and...experiment.

    Good luck.

  4. Olga,

Ronald Moravec said it exactly. Ans.Adams adds only a bath with Hypo clearing agent (1-2 min) after selenium but I dont think it's critical. My treated with slenium negatives are in excellent condition except from one strip of PAN F 135 which I rather had not washed very well and two of the six exposures are stained.I realized it before two years when I was scanning my negs and since then I keep them aside. No problem for the other part of the film since today. Ansel says that you can mix selenium with Hypo Cl. Agent but later it recants it. I tried both methods and I didn't find an advantage on H.C.A.

  5. I had tried Ansel Adams' method a long time before (I think in 1994) with FP4+ and I got excellent results. If I remember right I had used selenium with water 1+3 for 5 to 8 minutes and final rinse with water as usual. I don't remember if I had refixed the negative before or after selenium but the book "The negative" describes it in detail. If you don't have it tell me to search for it. Somewhere in my library i'll find it. In one case I remember that i doubled the procedure. You run it in daylight so you can see the results although when the neg dries is a little different.
  6. Hello all forum partners.

I'm attaching (at least I hope so) a scanned negative(as positive)

from a 4X5 in. Classic Pan 200 film developed in PMK 1+2+100 at

    24C/75F for 8 min. in a Jobo 2561 multitank and a 2509n reel.I'm

using this combination for at least two years with no any

problem. The rest five sheets developed together with this one came

perfect and only this has problem.Fixer was TF-3 for 5 min. no after

fixing bath ,washing with distilled water and finally Photo-Flo

1+1000. The only thing I'm suspicious is that after Photo-Flo I kept

the sheets in the dilution since the moment that I hung the last.

This is the one that has the bubbles the one that stayed the most

time in the dilution. Do you thing that the prolonged time in Photo-

    Flo caused those bubbles?

    Thank you all.<div>00CMSz-23815284.jpg.9232394ac2dcb85416cabccf74789893.jpg</div>

  7. I had the same problem with the 2100/2200 on glossy paper. The cause was high relative humidity. In addition on buying a dehumidifier(which was absolutely necessary for my enviroment)I made some adjustments concerning the time the paper stays in the printer in order to dry. However the most significant is to print with rel. humid. between 40% to 60% or to use matt paper.

    Good Luck.

    George.

  8. Hello Mac. I had the same problem when I bought my Sinar F2. The reason was that I wasn't forcing the holder to the very end of its way. Be sure that it reaches the end. Especially when the camera or the holder are new you have to put extra force but don't overdo it.

Good luck. Large Format is unique.

    George.

  9. Thank you all for your view. However I believe that there is no disadvantage using PMK at least as concerns the image quality and because I'll print some of them on silver paper I think that is not a bad idea developing with PMK.
