I use metal reels (have been for some time) and this is the first time Ive had a problem. Plastic and me dont get on too well. I did get a few new reels, which I mixed in with the general population before checking. But I'm narrowing it down, and I think I found the culprit. My concern is that the untreated part of film could contaminate and ruin the image area over time. Anyone experience this?

I know this has been covered, with instructions on how to fix the
problem, but I can't find the threads! I ran a bunch of film and
noticed that here and there on some of the film are the lines that
appear on the film edge due to it touching the reel and not getting
enough chemistry. I should have printed the previous threads out as a
precaution. Can anyone throw me a line? Should I just refix the film,
or is there a special trick to it. THANKS!

What experiences has anyone had with this film developer? Are there
any situations where this has been found to work perfectly, or
horribly? I've been playing with it, but I'm on the fence. I would
love to hear from the good and bad with this film.

I've yet to find a fool-proof way to teach flash to my students. I've
got a decent general overview, and I really push testing testing
testing, but I'm always looking for any great tips or methods that
can apply to the largest amount as possible; esspecially any novel
ideas, or warnings. Thanks!

Art is what happens when what the artist sees/thinks/feels is communicated to the world.
What I like to pose to my classes is not what is art, or what makes art, but what is bad art. I just gave them an assignment to bring back a GOOD traditional portrait and a BAD one. I think they will be suprised at what we find while examining these in critique.

I would like to know what experiences anyone has had with the arista
brand of film developer. I am very unimpressed with their paper
developer - so I'm wary of the film developer. I'd appreciate any
comments or results others have had. Thanks.

I wouldnt go so far as to stop developing. Until you have a definate answer, use the last two frames as test frames; I'd recommend shooting just an even toned object. Nothing will be lost as you work out what kinks are affecting the last frames.
