Tanni,
Love the idea. This is such a great place to photograph.
I wanted to mention that your recent series of desert images looks too saturated on my monitor (extreme bright here). Do you embed the color profile? The reason that I ask, is that did not seem to be the case with other images your have posted in previous years. I recently had an issue with a weird color shift when saving in jpg. The images would appear fine in one web browser but too saturated in another (since some browsers will ignore embedded profile). It was particularly noticeable with the Wave area images. I finally fixed it following

Please ignore this if extra saturation is intentional.

Great portrait. A special moment stopped in time.
I love the composition. The blurred background (postprocessing?) really helped to make the this a great image.

The colors of the canyon are amazing, reminiscent of Zion but with some pink hues. This one was taken late in the evening when it was less crowded but sun was gone from the structure itself, so I have done color correction (for example, it was too pink). Colors vary very much with the light.
I am attaching raw camera close up shot taken earlier in the day with the sunlight. No correction of any kind was done to this one (vivid camera setting on D200) and I saved jpg at 100%, so you can judge better.
It is magnificent place to visit but it is incredibly crowded (beyond any reasonable expectation and in comparison, for example, to high visited US national parks). There are buggies, donkeys, camels, etc. All very clean and orderly. We had maybe 200-300 people total group and we just dissolved in the crowd there.
There are some utterly incredible color in sort of caves there ( I will post later). I have see colors of the stone in the caves there that I have never seen anywhere else (almost purple).

Luca,
Magnificent! How did you time the image??? I have seen migrating whales recently in Australia and I would not even know where to start phographing since they always jumped out in a different spot.

Thank you all for your comments!
Fernando,
This is an aerial shot taken from a tiny sightseeing plane. I was lucky that the weather cleared enough to allow the flight but still had some cloud cover. First time I really needed motion canceling stabilizer build into the lens and it worked great. Used circular polarized filter due to bright light conditions.
John,
This is Tongariro National Park in New Zealand, North Island, about 4 hours drive from Auckland. There are three volcanoes there. This area is where Mt. Doom shots were done in the Lord of the Rings movie.
Karl,
Yes, it is an active volcano.

Marina,
Yes, it is Tongariro NP in New Zealand. The front mountain with a crater is
Mt. Ruapehu. The one in the back is Mt. Ngauruhoe (which was shot as Mt. Doom in the Lord of the Rings movie).
